Re: Devastated by husband's announcement

I used to be your husband. Having a young family is challenging, and the more selfish among us struggle a lot with losing our freedom and youth. He may have been feeling a bit "trapped" by his life circumstance for a while, and bottling it up. If he has lots of single or child free friends this feel...

Re: Primary School Waiting List Stress - 2017

No still not got a place at either... number 2 on the list at Telferscot right now and 8 for HC (down from 12 last week so some late movement there). Very frustrating being so close. We're still hoping for some late movement this month as kids don't turn up at various places, and some potentially sh...

Re: Primary School Waiting List Stress - 2017

Hi MangoKit, Apparently 14 people got places from the wait list for HC last year between April and October, so it's not impossible. Also, not all the people above you on the list will necessarily take a place at HC. Some of them might already be intending to take a private place, or moving home, or ...

Re: Primary School Waiting List Stress - 2017

Just as an update, we're currently number 15 on the list for Henry Cav and number 8 on the list for Telferscot (having moved up 3 places in the past week).

Got fingers crossed but think it's going to be touch and go whether we get a place at either.

Any others out there in similar situations?

Re: Primary School Waiting List Stress - 2017

Hi Batterseamummy, I sent you a PM. Wondered how far outside the initial catchment area you were and what number on the waiting list you were?

Headshrinker - no you can apply to schools in both boroughs. I also had Alderbrook on my list (Wandsworth).

Re: Primary School Waiting List Stress - 2017

Good to hear that things move actuallydad. I expect that there is a higher than average number of families that go private in the belleville area... which probably helped. We got given St Bede's Catholic Infant School. Wasn't on our list, but is a 'Good' school and also very close to our house so it...

Primary School Waiting List Stress - 2017

Hi everyone, We didn't receive a place at any of the schools on our list (we only put three) and were allocated a school instead. We are really gutted, and particularly surprised we didn't get a place at either Henry Cavendish or Telferscot as we would have got into both last year... in fact we woul...

Re: Primary school offer day... Get the school you wanted?

Heena - where do you live and what distance are you from Henry Cavendish? We had that as our first choice but didn't get it... despite being located on the same road! (Hydethorpe Road). We're also on the waiting list for Telferscot despite being only 340m away. Really stressing about it as we though...
