Re: Belleville School Catchment Area (for Webbs Rd)

Have you called and asked the school? Depending on how close you are to Chatto then you could potentially be in catchment for Belleville Webb's, Honeywell or on a year with lots of admissions or siblings, then Belleville Meteor.  None of these are bad choices, and each school/site has different pros...

Re: "Ear to the Ground" pop ups

Yes, they suddenly started about a week ago and I can't stop them without registering (which I don't want to do as I'm already registered!!).

Re: Belleville Road (off Northcote) ASBO - what is going on?

I've just had a look at the map and you're absolutely correct - and it's most odd. My initial thoughts were that perhaps the fact that Belleville School is on Belleville might mean that people complain about antisocial behaviour, but that seems ridiculously far fetched given that it's a primary scho...

Re: Thinking about getting Solar Panels? Here are 8 things to know

This makes perfect sense, especially with more of us working from home now.  The one thing I can't get my head around however is why the government won't include photo-voltaic in their Green Homes Grant, instead opting for hot water heating panels only...

Re: What DO we want on Northcote Road???

Both excellent points from Dudette and Boonkoh, and I guess you're right to say that retail is probably on the wane.  I also completely agree on the estate agent comment which is why I took my business off the high street a year ago - people want you to be local, however all the high street shop pro...

Re: What DO we want on Northcote Road???

Evening all, As the planning rules for shops have recently changed we are seeing a big increase in the number of shops getting change of use to restaurants/delis/bakeries etc. The left hand side of White Stuff is going to be a vegan deli/cafe/restaurant, and the right hand shop currently has a plann...

Re: Lockdown birthday ideas for 10 year old

A good friend of ours created a Kudoboard for her ten year old's birthday last week.  It's basically a webpage where invited friends can download pictures and videos to create a birthday storyboard and worked brilliantly. It's not an activity as such, but it was a lovely way for us all to share memo...

Re: Lockdown learning - is your school offering live lessons?

Belleville is doing three live Zoom lessons a day, plus an extra one per week.  The live lessons are around half an hour each, and are English and Maths every day, and then daily 'Curriculum', which is effectively one of the sciences, Geography RE or PSCHE Art French Music or PE.  The extra one a we...

Re: Is a new iphone too much for a 10 year old for Xmas?

The only plus I would say regarding an iPhone over any other brands is that if you have an iPhone you can create a child’s account linked to your account which means they can’t download any apps etc without your phone notifying you and asking permission. There are other controls too. I imagine the ...

Re: Is a new iphone too much for a 10 year old for Xmas?

Totally agree with the last two posters above for the same reasons. I have two girls, 10 and 12. My eldest 'needs' a phone as she travels to secondary by train and I have no issue with that.  My youngest goes to a local primary and asked for one this year and we did get her one, although to be hones...

Could I just say that my daughter does this and it's awesome - Kat and her team are just brilliant, and it's a great way to get fit, have some fun and learn some discipline!!

Re: Northcote Road Closure Feedback

Hi NorthcoteBlondie, As the organisers of the weekend closures I'd like to say thank you for this post, and we would also encourage everyone who has an opinion (good or bad!) to give your feedback on the road closure.  The more views we get, the better we can shape the plans for the future. I would ...
