Re: Yet another mugging on St John's Road

Vigilante groups seem to be the only way to go these days. Get a group together and arm yourselves with baseball bats and zombie knives and patrol the area.

Re: Help/Advice Needed

How much are we talking? Do you have his contact details and address?

There are people who can help you recover it for a % fee.

Re: Looking at churches in the area

It’s sad that people have to ask these days to find a good one.

I went to a Christingle service the other week at one and every hymn we sang was dull and boring new age guff.

What’s happened to the old classics we use to sing?

Re: Northcote Road pedestrianisation could be abandoned - what councillors are saying

Seeing as we all seem to love paying more taxes perhaps the new Labour administration could raise Council Tax in Wandsworth so we don’t have to experience any cuts in service.

No need to do anything kamikwaze like cancelling our pedestrianised streets.

Re: Does being privately educated mean discrimination at job interviews?

It’s about time too. I am a global HR director for a large multinational - and yes, we do analyse the screening questions and background of each candidate to decide who to progress. As a previous poster said, this is about levelling the playing field - something that should have been done decades a...

Re: Does being privately educated mean discrimination at job interviews?

You could always pull them out just before they do the exams and sit them at the local 6th form college and remove any reference to the private education.

They love people playing the system.

Re: How Tory Wandsworth could swing Labour ahead of elections

I remember predicting this would happen a few years ago now. The writing was on the iron curtain long before any lockdown partying occurred. I’m sure it won’t be long before Battersea Park is pimped out to open air concerts, raves and chugger walks every weekend while they let the facilities fall to...

Re: Concerned about care of a baby in Clapham Common playground (4.30 today)

I would say if you were that concerned you should have gone over and said something in person. This type of snitching post is rather unpleasant and just confirms what most people already think about this area. I found Clapham Common a very unwelcoming place for a parent and new baby, very stuck up a...

Re: Nasty nationalist propaganda being pushed in our schools.

Have you considered moving North to Batley Guy? They have a grammar school there where your kids and yourself will feel more at home.

Re: Tooting shop is first in south London to sell CBD ‘buds’ that look and smell like street cannabis

You won’t need CBD if Sadiq Khan gets re-elected as the good stuff with THC will be decriminalised. Will you all mind the waft of weed blowing over the garden fence and through the walls of your £1m+ terraces houses? Or do you think his £120k per year political advisor has been smoking too much of t...

Re: Help Make Clapham Common Safe

They could start by not closing down the local police stations. She must have walked past the recently closed Cavendish Road police station just before she was abducted.

You can thank Sadiq Khan for that one.

Re: Filthy Clapham Common / come on Lambeth

It’s too much of a cash cow for Lambeth to give up easily they pimp it out at every opportunity for music festivals, fun fairs, tv crews and chugger runs while spending very little to improve the experience for local residents. So many benches have vanished to never be replaced, the water fountains ...

Re: CEO of Wandsworth and Richmond councils is highest earner in South London in new 'rich list' of CEOs across town hal

Public sector pay has become obscene and not just these overpaid CEOs it’s across the board right down to the pen pushers, clipboard carriers, seat warmers and community cohesion managers. On average pay is now higher in the public sector than the private sector despite the latter having to fund the...

Re: Save the greens at Clapham South - your help is needed.

No sarcasm. This is Battersea not Benidorm and one pitch and putt in the vicinity is more than enough.

It would be nice if Lambeth Council showed some initiative and fresh thinking rather than copying others.

Re: Save the greens at Clapham South - your help is needed.

There is already a pitch & putt at Battersea Park do we really need 2 of them in a mile or so radius?

Perhaps a youth centre might be more appropriate give the kids somewhere to practice their tagging and drill music.

Whatever they decide on it needs to be as diverse and inclusive as possible.
