No petitions, no getting angry ... just leaving Nappy Valley for good

Will the last person out please turn off the lights?

Re: Watch Out - Strange Scam In Northcote Road This Morning! - Puzzled!

I am a former NCA worker, mercenery and security advisor, so I know how this set up works. The guy is an agent put up to it by one of the big organised gangs. He is recruited by a gang and is even dropped off at his location of work each morning and told what to do. The gangs have several business l...

Re: Should curtains be this expensive?

yeah ... rip-off ... try buying direct on the internet. Buy a couple of pairs and see if you like them. Hillary's are expensive and no better quality, in my humble opinion Shutters - there are two major manufacturers and most come from there. Buy from Hillarys and it could be £500, John Lewis and it...

Re: Labour backs a second referendum! Many in our SW boroughs will be DELIGHTED...

GuyD73 - I am with you. My job disappears in the few months following hard Brexit.  But a referendum is a referendum. Evidence has shown (e.g. in Canada) that where a political party rejects a plebiscite, they will get punished by their own supporters. Or a party that takes voters to the polls twice...

Re: Recommendation for Builder / Damp Specialist urgently needed!

You may want to start with a surveyor specialists in damp. Have you got a leaking pipe ? Is your underfloor heating leaking, or do you have a leak from a bathroom upstairs? When it rains, check the guttering. It is possible the guttering leaks and dumps water on the wall. Is there a proper damp cour...

Re: House purchase - Japanese Knotweed

Walk away It is hugely expensive to treat. May not sell in a weak market and you never know, it may come back. There are plenty of homes out there in this weak market waiting for offers. Maybe you have your hear set on it but use your head and walk away. They will probably come back 5% cheaper a cou...

Re: Battersea councillor joins thousands of minicab drivers in congestion charge protest

Why don't they pass through the congestion charge to punters? Why should hardworking private hire people and the environment pay for your cheap chariots to get a few beers? Force the greedy punter to pay more. A £2 levy on every uber bill, for example. And force the black cabs to pay. They are laugh...

Re: In-laws voted leave. They've removed my children's freedom of movement and I can't cope with seeing them any longer.

BTW, what is the betting on Nappy Valley house prices falling 20% under 'no deal'? See what happens to school fees then ! And see what happens to Land Rover thefts (answer:- there'll be no new ones as people can't get credit when their bank knows they are in negative equity and their high-paid finan...

Re: In-laws voted leave. They've removed my children's freedom of movement and I can't cope with seeing them any longer.

By the way, I think the whole country if fed up with Brexit and a lot of real issues have not had parliamentary time because of it.

People just want one thing or another. Not endless debate. And pointless front pages.

I just want to either stay in or 'go hard out'

Let's call it a day.

Re: In-laws voted leave. They've removed my children's freedom of movement and I can't cope with seeing them any longer.

To let such a divide ruin your view of life, and to take such a one-sided view (disclaimer:- I am a Labour voter who voted remain) is crazy, in my opinion. To play devils advocate (not my views, just to provide some balance in your own mind, if not to your own article):- What about the view that the...
