Re: Elderly father to move in?

My 80 year old American Father moved in from the US when my mother died many years ago . I had a full time Managing Director role at a City bank as well as a 6 year old daughter to take care of. So I also had a lot on my plate although I did have a full time live in Nanny . I have to say that my dau...

Re: Husband's financial deceit means son now can't go to private school

You have had good advice about your son but didn’t mention details of your husband’s deceitfulness . A very big word of advice . My husband did the same thing when we were first married . I forgave him but it only became worse . He ended up forging my name on a second mortgage and pawning my jewelry...

Re: Looking for a good joiner to do a front door

You mean you don’t fancy paying £6000 for a front door ? We also approached Ayrton who quoted close to £8000! I ended up having my builder do it for around £3000- doors aren’t cheap . Ironically they are installing it this minute. When it is finished and if I’m happy with it I can ask if he would be...

Re: Left out of a girls holiday to Ibiza

What a F**kwit of a response . I wouldn’t want a friend that insensitive and selfish - nor spend time with her . She sounds like the woman I encountered at Broomwood - never worked , always complaineing about her husband and basically a bore. Think of it as a lucky escape

Re: Left out of a girls holiday to Ibiza

I agree with what pie81 said . Life is too short to be hurt by so called friends who really aren’t . It is hurtful so you have a few choices: focus on friends who are not hurtful; or ask the women who’s Villa they are staying in why you weren’t included. If she says because of numbers you learn you ...

Re: Heaver estate windows

We used Aryton Windows . They were wonderful . I used to live in double fronted home so know them well . I would estimate at least 50,000 if not more given their complexity . We replaced. 9 sash windows in our new house and it cost -£23,000 . It is well worth it though because we won’t need to paint...

Re: LK BENNETT to close on Northcote Road

The company is in administration so I’m not surprised . The clothes haven’t been nice for years and are very expensive for what they are .

Re: Should curtains be this expensive?

I hate to say it but if you want nice curtains it is very expensive . That quote seems fair but I’d have to know the size of window , detail and amount of fabric. I just moved house and paid close to £50,000 for curtains for a 4bedroom , 1 reception room standard Victorian house. However the curtain...

Re: child to walk to school on their own?

I think you are being highly irresponsible . 5 years old is far too young . Bloody hell im amazed you can even ask the question .

Re: Alabama rot reported in London dogs

Actually there is a way to prevent it . Make sure you wash your dogs paws after they have been outside in muddy areas. Wash them in warm water and towel dry .

Re: Veronica Calabro

Wow what a nasty response . Having said that 10% is rather a low commission and should have set alarm bells ringing . Most reputable ones take 30% plus .

Re: Need New windows. Advice?

We just had all the windows on our terraced house replaced. We used Aryton - they are expensive but you get what you pay for . They did a great job .

Re: What’s the property market like in SW11 now?

I recently sold my house which was on the market for many years because the offers fell through as people got nervous . It was priced keenly . I recommend Rampton Basely . I would give Knight Frank a wide berth - they talk a good story but don’t deliver and I think are unscrupulous .
