Re: How to manage taking children out of fee paying school mid- year

I'd agree with Headshrinker, do lots of extra-curricular activities (although state schools do have after-school clubs for free as well), support with tutoring if you need to but they all have extension tasks for the super bright and some subjects may even be streamed. If you are in a good area you ...

Re: Panic Attacks - help

I developed similar travel related anxiety in my 40's as well, related to flying/travelling. There were a set of circumstances that triggered it but I couldn't get past it. I had previously travelled extensively and was furious with myself. For me what has worked is taking a medication called Propan...

Re: Is corian heat resistant?

We used Corian for our remodel - as we have a massive island (3m x 1.5m). Marble was more than double the cost. While I love the Corian colour we chose… Hate the product. Hate.hate.hate. Not nearly as durable as I thought it but would be. Scratches easily. Chipped when they installed our flush Gagg...

Re: Do you regret your lockdown puppy?

We got a puppy during lockdown and adore her, both my husband and I having grown up with dogs. It is very different having a dog in the city to the country though, and as experienced as we were, it has still been a shock and something to get used to. The two walks a day, respective of weather, not b...

Re: The Orthodontic Practice Battersea - your experience and opinions please

I commented on another post re orthodontist treatment at The Orthodontist Practice, Battersea. My son is now being treated at White & CO on Battersea Rise where we self-referred. We were originally referred to the Orthodontic Practice on Battersea Rise by our dentist but were quite disturbed by ...

Re: Orthodontist - nhs braces help

We are the same, a very borderline requirement re overbite that is the difference between £4500 and NHS. We self-referred to White & Co on Battersea Rise - but are having to pay; an expensive debated millimetre. We were originally referred to the Orthodontic Practice on Battersea Rise by our den...

Re: How much do you think I can expect schools fees to increase by

It’s often forgotten by the rabid, uninformed guardian readers who loathe the independent sector, just how little support the sector gets from the government and how little charitable status is worth in practice.   Wow! I suppose you are refering to this kind of article https://www.theguardian.com/...

Re: Clapham Common is not a rubbish tip.

I live near Streatham Common and bought a litter picker during lockdown as was sick of seeing it everywhere with so many more people using it for leisure. I decided I could complain about it endlessly or actually do something about it and chose the latter. I pick up 3-4 carrier bags of rubbish proba...

Re: Part Time/Flexible Marketing expert

Hi All, I'm currently working part-time for a fintech startup who need some advice/help on the marketing side.  They are not looking for an agency but for someone with a marketing background (consumer/banking would be great) who would like to join the team as a remote worker on a part-time basis.  ...
