Re: Trinity Fields Fireworks

They have had to use an external organiser due to health and safety which has pushed the price up.  Battersea is on a different scale really so can be cheaper. It is fairly comparable to the price that e.g. St Pauls Church in Clapham charge (although that does include a moen's sausage if you can be ...

Re: Tips for a new working mom

Outsource as much of the boring stuff as possible. Increase your cleaning budget, have shopping delivered etc. So the time you do have as a family is not spent doing chores. Get comfortable with everything being at about 80%, home and work. If you are a perfectionist, this is the time to change. Mak...

Re: Winterville 2018: Full list of festivities revealed for Clapham Common event

They are advertising because they know it will be a shoe in, no one cares about the local residents' objections. Certainly not Lambeth, the most corrupt London borough out there. I liked the idea of Winterville but it really is a tacky funfair with very little else on offer. It should run for 2 week...

Re: Winterville 2018: Full list of festivities revealed for Clapham Common event

It’s disappointing to see the location of this is yet again not on the fairground section. The common has still not recovered from 2017 and large parts of the common were fenced off for months. I would like to see some of the money re invested into the common. The playgrounds are a disgrace. Last ye...

Re: Belleville or local private prep

We have friends at Belleville and they are all delighted with the school. The 11+ results are excellent especially at the smaller Meteor sight. Dd is only in Reception ( at thomas’s) by I would say Belleville are much more academic at this stage. Reading and writing seem to be a huge focus and they ...

Re: Honeywell School or local private prep?

Interesting example! He started his own academy and was chair of governors ( then left when his kids did). Not exactly the experience most people will have of state education is it now?

Re: Honeywell School or local private prep?

I have heard great things about Honeywell and Belleville. Sadly we are the wrong side of the common! Just jumping on to defend the ‘royal schools’ by which I assume you mean Thomas’s? We are very happy with it and the parents are honestly very nice and normal. I have made a few genuine mates which I...

Re: Anyone has luck to get Thomas' deposit back ?

It does seem unfair given they have a waiting list which apparently has barely moved so far this year, another family will be grateful I am sure. The only private school I have heard of returning deposits is EH and only then very early in the process.

Re: Paying for childcare cash in hand - what's the view?

This is a real pet hate of mine she should turn down the job absolutely. There is a huge shortage of good nannies at the moment I am sure she will find a job with a good family who don’t believe the rules don’t apply to them.

Re: Before you do IVF Must read!!!!

So much Wong with your post I don’t know where to start! Seriously if you are dealing with vulnerable Women trying for a baby you need to seriously address your language. You are implying ivf is a negative ‘pumping chemicals’ into your body, you are ignoring the fact that 50% of fertility problems a...
