Hall for kids party? Recommendations please

We are looking for somewhere to hold a party for 20ish children. Clapham, Battersea or nearby (can be flexible about location) It will be a Sunday in June - and many of the church halls don't hire space on a Sunday. Please let me know if you have any recommendations - we are doing our research but n...

Re: Newton Prep school reception 2019

my child is in nursery now, starting reception in Sept - and we have found them really nurturing and warm. I don't know how it will go in reception but I'd be surprised if they dropped all the warmth overnight. It does feel somewhat 'ambitious' but not overtly so. And I suspect we won't know until t...

Re: Where to travel alone with 3yr old on holiday

I am a single mother and just took my three year old to Lisbon last week (for 5 nights) - it was great! it's an easy flight, things are relatively cheap and there are Ubers available all the time (useful as it's hilly and the kid got tired) Ubers also all seemed to carry booster seats in the trunk! ...

Re: Temporary nanny available 28/3 - 23/4

Hi Martina

I might need some childcare help for w/c 1st April for my little boy (whilst nursery is closed) He's three and would probably like an environment with a few children around to play with.
If you are experienced and have references we might be keen :-)

i have one child in nursery, starting reception in Sept. We don't know yet about the school but nursery has been a big success so far - nice parents, nice atmosphere.
Can't advise on travel though

Re: We are looking for an after school nanny/housekeeper 2-3 days a week SW17- starting end Feb

Try Koru kids - specialise in after school nannies

They aren't housekeepers, but you could speak to them and check what other duties you would like them to take on? we love our after school girl through them

Clapham recommendations for Easter school holiday care? (3 year old)

Does anyone have any good tips for helping cover nursery/school holidays with three year old? Perhaps a local childminder they are willing to share on a short term basis for a week or two? Obviously we will take as much time off work as possible, but we have over three weeks to cover so I'd love som...

Re: Afterschool nanny - cost per hour?

we have an after school nanny 3 days/week through Koru Kids. She collects him from school, walks him home, plays, feeds him supper and I get home 3 hours later 9 hours/ minimum through Koru Kids, term time only. £13/hour but they take all tax, NI, holiday pay out of that, so it works out pretty reas...

Re: Taxi service for children

ps I am not a paranoid parent generally and I catch Ubers (and dodgy minicabs) myself BUT I would NOT put a child alone in an Uber. Sorry, but the chance that the driver hasn't had any criminal background check done is pretty high. Even if you can see on the map where they are, that's not going to h...

Re: outstanding nurseries - clapham for under 2 YO

Mace Montessori in Stockwell is Ofsted outstanding and very warm and loving - but obvs may be too far, depending on which bit of Clapham you are

Re: Chelsea & West or St Thomas?

K1119's comment above sounds like very sensible advice to me! For what it's worth for other's future reference, we had a great experience at Thomas's. Much of it with NHS hospitals is surely down to luck - ie: how busy it is when you happen to go into labour? Closeness and convenience for D-Day (i.e...
