Re: Thinking of Going Back To Work - Or Starting Up on Your Own

I should add to this, just in case you are sceptical, I approached Orla to help me with this and it is not a salesy/gimmicky initiative. After 6 years as a confirmed stay-at-home mum, I returned to work in January. I have gone back to a 4-day a week job at Accenture, being paid proper money... and s...

After school nanny wanted - starting Jan 2018

Hi, I am looking for an after school nanny, 3pm-7pm Tues to Fri, and full days in the school holidays. Open to discussion on tweaking this. To collect 2 girls from school, aged 6 and 8. Both well-behaved and self-sufficient. We live in Balham, very close to Waitrose. Looking for someone who is: 1. A...

Looking for packaging / sawdust for a lucky dip

Does anyone have loads of left over packaging foam or sawdust or something similar that we could use for a school lucky dip? Seems a shame to buy something that we then have to store or will throw away.

Thanks

Re: Alderbrook class size

Petal, I am also surprised because all the tours I have helped with over the last 2 years have started in the main school before going across to the Early Years at the end. I will pass on your comments, I am sorry that you weren't able to see everything.

Re: Alderbrook class size

Hi, I have two children at Alderbrook, one in Year 2 and one in Reception. My eldest is in a class of 23 children (it was about the same size in Reception) and over 10 of them probably speak a mixture of another language and English at home. Be careful of the stats - they are based on the answer to ...

Re: Loaf vs. Sofa.com?

Another thumbs up for Sofa.com from us but frustrating that they don't do re-covering because ours is pretty grubby now and it is cheaper to replace the sofa entirely, seems crazy.

Re: Painted Furniture

I have a few items that I have never got round to doing myself. Please can I have your number to arrange a quote?

Private message me, if that works.

Thanks

Re: wall charts/history timelines for kids

I tried looking for something and convinced myself that I should design something because there is a gap in the market - never got round to that! I am sorry to say that I never found anything, but I think it would be really cool to make one, picking out events in history that matter to you.

Re: Alderbrook vs Ravenstone

I don't think much of the OFSTED report, when I read them I thought they lacked structure/regulation/a standardised approach. Just to clarify, I don't think much of OFSTED reporting in general, don't rate it as being an accurate view of a school and felt that Ravenstone was given an unfairly hard t...

Re: Alderbrook vs Ravenstone

Hi, My daughter is in Year 1 at Alderbrook and my second daughter is due to start there in Reception in December. I was torn between Ravenstone and Alderbrook but when I looked round both, I was more impressed with Alderbrook (also I live a bit further away from Ravenstone). I have been very happy w...

Re: Carpet advice please!

Avoid Marc Charles in South Wimbledon. I have struggled with various carpet shops and I have tried buying carpet online and having it fitted by an independent fitter. That was a nightmare, storing a roll 5m long was not easy! I was impressed by Carpetman when they quoted and I wish I had used them. ...

Are you getting rid of a carpet?

We are looking for a 3.5m x 3.5m piece of carpet to put down for a party. Don't mind what colour or how many stains and we can cut down a larger piece. Happy to collect. The only thing is that we need it to be thick enough so that a glass of red wine does not manage to sink through to my impractical...
