Maths Tutor for dyslexic/ ADHD Child

I have a bright and articulate 10 year-old who does not seem to be understanding the maths taught at school at all. She is in year six and has been struggling since forever really. The school identified her issues and have put her in extra support classes etc. but nothing seems to be helping. She re...

Re: Milk in Balham slated in Daily Mail

Personally I agree with the verdict on Milk. It is very much a case of the Emporer's New Clothes for me. Queues around the block in Balham a place that is chokka with good brunch places, why bother? It's just not that good! The food is tasty, good ingredients but am I queing? NO. Am I paying £6 for ...

Re: Dog attack on young children in Battersea Park

If you find yourself outraged by a story in The Daily Mirror, know it is by design and probably based on the most flimsiest of truth grains. Try not to read stories from that rag if you are likely to easily frightened. It's probably utter nonsense designed to frighten you and pit you against your ne...

Re: Best roads for trick or treating?

OK Btc_Mum, perhaps you can climb down from your high horse and look at things a bit more pragmatically. Re: Do I have responsibilities before I allow my son's 17 yr old girlfriend to stay over

I was allowed my boyfriend to stay over from 16. Before that happened for the first time I went on the pill because I discussed with my Mum about wanting to become sexually active with him. My parents attitude was always I'd rather you be safe and comfortable in this house than in the back of a car ...

Re: Urgent appeal after man hit in head with weapon in Balham Rolex robbery

That is a ridiculous victim blaming comment. The issue is not with the man wearing his own items but with the man who attacked him. Everyone should be able to wear what the hell they like without someone attacking them. Violence is the problem. Not someone wearing a Rolex. You are likely the kind of...

Re: Split of responsibilities with your partner

I always find these posts so interesting and incredibly sad and frustrating that it's 2022 and women are still having to negotiate a fair share of family and house duties with their male partner. It's worth noting, anecdotally of course, that my friends in same sex partnerships don't have this issue...

Re: Balham Park Rd Murder

An all too familiar husband kills wife story. Undoubtedly following years of domestic violence where this poor woman has not had the means, knowledge or ability to escape from her murderer. And they wonder why these solidarity for women movements and the rise of support for feminism is still so impo...
