Re: Advice / views on Beatrix Potter and Earlsfield Primary schools

Having lived in the area for a while and with 2 children having gone through EPS and another still there I’ve seen a great deal of change in attitudes about “which is the better school”. All a bit ridiculous seeing as we are so lucky to have 2 good schools but there you go. Traditionally BP was cons...

Re: Belleville or local private prep

Hi I do totally understand why you’re asking this question And honestly from what I know of all these schools your child will be fine and happy and stretched wherever they go But reading all these threads about schools is depressing reading in some ways as so much emphasis seems to be placed by pare...

Re: Only afford to send one to private school

Hi I think the fact you’re so concerned about it tells you the answer. Listen to your gut Our eldest daughter got a scholarship to a local private secondary - we (wrongly on reflection) put her in for all sorts of options without really thinking it through and once we did we realised that we couldn’...

Re: Honeywell School or local private prep?

Just to add. It drives our headmaster mad because for every child who leaves he loses funding. It’s not always easy to fill places at that stage. The state system is already under funded and under strain - just something to consider.

Re: Honeywell School or local private prep?

I think Iots of interesting points have been made and what a lucky choice it is to make beteeen a great state school and a private one. My only thought would be to think about making that choice from reception rather than moving your daughter at year 3. Please think about the impact this had not onl...

Re: Mayfield Gymnastics - worth the money?!

Both my daughters have done mayfield gymnastics - one still there. It is astronomical but if they are really in to gym then it’s probably worth it. We swallowed the cost because our girls loved it both for gym and socially ( which is also important!) and I don’t regret paying the fees. But I think t...

Re: NHS hospitals allow elective c-sections?

Everyone is entitled to an elective c section on the nhs..... http://www.nhs.uk/Conditions/caesarean-section/Pages/introduction.aspx Yes this is true but NICE guidelines are just that - guidelines. Hospitals are able to opt out if they choose. The main reason c and w is saying no to cs for women wi...

Re: Considering moving to Earlsfield

Hi Like everyone has said its a personal choice and it is hard to know what an area is like to live in by just looking at it from the outside but if you're after a nice place to bring up kids then those areas already mentioned are all great. I was born in Fulham in the 70's and it was considered a b...
