Re: Reckless driver in Stormont Road / Clapham Northside

A quick look at your profile @DickyD suggest ours are very different worldviews so I don't expect we would ever agree on environmental policy, politics, common sense... let alone parenting. However I don't really understand why you are so openly abusing anyone who disagrees with you while implicitly...

Re: Reckless driver in Stormont Road / Clapham Northside

I guess that's a valid point of view. If you feel that way tho, start a change.org petition? Don't terrorise children and potentially harm them because you are annoyed at their parents thinking cycling should be allowed.... I don't own a car but don't go around vandalising those who drive one. Nor a...

Reckless driver in Stormont Road / Clapham Northside

Hi, My husband was hit today by a black porsche SUV driven by an extremely rude (and apparently in a hurry) Asian woman. He was cycling our two small kids in a cargo bike to school this Monday at 8.40 am and while waiting to cross to Northside coming from Stormont Road started getting very aggressiv...

Re: Linden Tree Old Town vs Bright Horizons Clapham

Our daughter has been at Linden Tree in Webb's Road for almost 3 years now and she is very happy there. My son went to a different nursery which we were very happy with but couldn't make it work this time because of location. My thoughts on Linden Tree specifically: - it's a very small nursery and t...

Re: Chelsea & Westminster vs St Thomas - c-section / private

I have had two c-sections in Chelsea & Westminster and had good experiences with both. First one wasn't planned but the second one I was given the choice as I had a C-section first time. I think in your case as you had a previous C-section it would be the same. They invite you to a VBAC (Vaginal...

Re: Honeywell vs Belleville

Our son is very happy at Belleville. It's a very inclusive and active community. He has a wide offer of extracurriculars every day after school: chess, cricket, drama, tennis... We definitely feel it's an outstanding school (with or without the report). He's made lots of progress in his reading and ...

Driving lessons and test

Hi, I need to sort out my driving license as my foreign one is not valid here. It's been a good while since I have driven so I'd definitely benefit from lessons. My husband has been stuck for two years with National Intensive and they keep on moving the dates for his lessons/tests. It sounds like a ...

Re: resenting my step daughter

It could be hormonal, when my second baby was born I was really short tempered with my first child. I was worried and read about mums resenting their eldest once a new baby was born. Basically by nature we have an urge to protect the baby and anyone can be a threat. As others mentioned the lack of h...

Re: Belleville Nursery

There are nearby private nurseries offering pickup from Belleville - Butterfly School and maybe Noah's Ark? These are term time only. And I think hours are also similar to school (end at 3.30 pm, etc) but some do offer wraparound care as well to extend the day and holiday camps.

Re: École de Wix vs Belleville Webb's

Thanks for the replies, all very useful pointers. We are leaning towards Belleville at the moment, as French is not a must for our family but rather nice to have. The biggest sticking point at this stage is that in the French stream we would get a guaranteed spot at the French Lycée and it does seem...

École de Wix vs Belleville Webb's

Hi, Our son is set to start reception in École de Wix next fall (French class). He doesn't speak French but both myself and his father do (we aren't French tho). We have been unexpectedly offered a place in Belleville Webb's Road site, so are now pondering. Does anyone have experiences with either s...
