Re: TFL survey on the A24 cyclelane from Colliers Wood to Balham.

Thank you Goldhawk for reminding people about the TfL survey. We too are keen that residents tell TfL what they think about the cyclelane along Balham High Road - the impact on cyclists, bus users, businesses and local residents.

Re: Rats on Tooting Common

I too have seen more rats than normal on Tooting Common (and to a lesser extent on Wandsworth Common). I have asked Cllr Steffi Sutters and council officers for their advice. Here it is - and a sensible and measured approach I think:  Rats are particularly attracted to the Commons as they like wate...

Not to be missed! St Mary’s Talks (Virtual) Thursday 18 and 25 March 7.30pm

A couple of really interesting talks coming up via St Mary’s Balham. The talk on the Huguenot silk weaver will be of interest to Wandsworth residents with our important Huguenot history. Dr Horsfall Turner is a mine of information! You may remember the excellent series on Radio 4 on the History of t...

Re: Wandsworth Recycling Bags

Have you tried your neighbours if you have a WhatsApp group for your road?

Where are you in Balham? If close, I could do my dog-walk via you and drop a few on your doorstep if in dire need.

Re: Dangerous junction outside Chestnut Grove Academy, Balham

The Nightingale councillors (Cllrs Sarah McDermott, Ian Hart and Richard Field) are well aware of the issues students face at they come and go to Chestnut Grove Academy. It is a congested area from the High Road/tube/train and has to be shared with local residents who need to drive and local busines...

Re: URGENT -Extension to Phone mast on 149 Nightingale Lane near Wandsworth Common

We Nightingale councillors are on the case. We are putting out leaflets alerting local residents to the application and posting on Twitter and Facebook. We had a meeting a couple of years ago to agree an alternative site adjacent to the railway bridge so we are surprised that the application is back...

Now the application is on Wandsworth Council's planning portal (2018/1741) and the pu...

Re: Petition to inprove road safety outside Chestnut Grove School...

'The Parsley Song' - We will go ahead with the Speedwatch on 28 March as we have to compete for sessions with other wards and don't want to let this one go. But your point is well made and we will organise another one at another time too. The police will be monitoring speed but we will also be able ...

Re: Petition to inprove road safety outside Chestnut Grove School...

Yes, Nightingale councillors have organised a Community Speedwatch with PC Howe (who is in charge of Speedwatch across the borough) for Wednesday 28 March 3-4.30pm. We have to compete for dates - but Nightingale does pretty well on getting in first for many dates. We are on the case with finding out...
