Does anyone use a storage company for year round storage?

Does anyone use a storage company like Access for long term storage? We seem to be bulging at the seams and I think it would be a good solution for extra storage but not sure if works for long term use or if it becomes extremely expensive? We would probably just want something small that we could st...

Alternative brands for children's clothes to Zara and Boden.

Wondering if anyone has any ideas for good quality clothing brands other than Boden or Zara for young children. I have been buying regularly from these brands and love them but they both seem to have jumped substantially in cost and I am looking for alternatives, especially for everyday use. If anyo...

Landscaper underquoted but halfway through job.

Hoping someone can help here. We are midway through having a garden renovation and the tradesman told us this week that has significantly under quoted. Not sure how this has happened and he is hugely apologetic but he needs nearly 30 per cent more money to finish the job. Not sure that we would have...

Re: More about in laws and Christmas

I feel your pain, having written on here previously about a lack of help from my in-laws. It is hurtful. Having read your post I would be tempted to suggest: 1) you think about making another holiday period 'your special time', less pressure on in laws to be with others, less pressure on you at an a...

Good place to buy wood for wood burner

Can anyone recommend a good place to buy wood for a wood burning stove. We probably need relatively small pieces of wood, ideally in bags and also kindling. I would prefer to have it delivered if someone knows of a service for this?
Many thanks in advance.

In-laws never offer to have the children

I would love some advice on how I can encourage my in-laws to step up and have my two toddlers occasionally to help us with childcare. They live in a lovely house with a garden in Esher so very near and are recently retired. They were delighted to tell the world that they would be grandparents, but...

Re: Fox in house helping himself to the grocery cupboard

I would be terrified to walk into my kitchen and be faced with a fox.

I've noticed that they are so bold now and don't seem to scarper like they used to when they saw humans approaching.

Re: Help/advice 6month old doesn't sleep through the night

Not for everyone but if you like routine (I do) then try Gina Ford. She sorted the early sleeping pattern for us. You do have to give yourself up to it for a few weeks and it does seem very strict at first glance but it worked for us. Good luck!

Alderbrook and Ravenstone

Could anyone give me some insight to either of these schools. We live on Ramsden Road and not sure which would be better for us, and to be honest if we are likely to get into either? Any information or experience would be invaluable.

Cot to bed transition. How long to settle?

Hi We have just bought our 20 month old daughter a bed as she is tall for her age and has started banging around in her cot and getting frustrated. I put it up yesterday and I put her grobag duvet on and she played in it for ages. I put her down at 7pm but she didn't settle until 10pm! As soon as I ...
