Re: Basement extension

Hi You need a party wall agreement and lots of photos of your walls. The good news is that in the long term it’s not s problem but it’s a bit inconvinient in the short term. What you may find is that as the next door house “settles” it causes issues with yours. These are perfectly normal and nothing...

Re: Building children's confidence

So sorry to hear you are having a hard time. Find an obscure sport that no one else is doing and then he can excel at it free from a peer group. Some strange martial art or something would do the trick. Also is there anything that he could take up that might be seen as “Cool”. I know that one a pare...

Re: Mugged on doorstep SW11, be careful!

I am so sorry this happened to you.

Can I just ask that you understood the police correctly and they’re really not taking further action?

That seems incredible for a violent crime.

Either way hope you are not shaken up for a long time - it sounds totally totally horrible for you.

Re: How do you get your builder to come back and fix their mistakes?

Small claims court.

Easy to do yourself and makes them sit up and take notice.

Re: Emmanuel school

It’s a great school BUT I would say that it’s getting really really hard to get into.

That’s the same for most London Day Schools but please have a few back ups ready as there really are no easy schools any more.

Re: Ideas for first time buyers leaving Nappy Valley?

Have you looked at Furzedown? It's really really lovely community (I don't live there but have heard only great things)

Depending on how "edgy" you want to get, Colliers Wood is the Balham of 1995, ie no one thinks it will go anywhere but if you got in then...

Re: Purchasing next to Springfield Hospital Redevelopment

Hi Welcome! Agree that there is risk - the park does feel like just the sort of place that could be developed further down the line. But I do think Wandsworth are pretty good at this sort of thing so would be surprised if that were the case. One detail but its worth mentioning - if you have children...

Re: Club Med La Plagne or Val Claret?

Totally agree with Julian.

I learnt in La Plagne and it was beautiful wide motorways - lovely lovely cruising.

Tigne and Val D'Isere are super extreme and even some of the runs into the resort are tricky

Re: General election - vote for staying in EU?

Is that even a possibility? I thought there was no turning back now that Article 55 has been signed?
I have no idea :-o

but I figured that a government with a majority could do pretty much anything.

But I may be wrong...

General election - vote for staying in EU?

Hi There can't be many people who haven't seen there is a snap general election coming up. I'd like to vote for a "stay" party but I'm not sure who that might be. I know it's a bit simplistic for a general election but if there was a party that would promise to try and keep us in EU I'd go...

Re: Help! Am organising birthday drinks for my husband's 40th . . .

I received a caricature for my birthday - loved it and it's something that can be passed around the pub for everyone to laugh at. Depending on how much fun you want to make it you could also go for: 1) dice games to decide who drinks or doesn't drink 2) a quiz about him (might not work if he is very...
