Re: Is it irresponsible to leave our three children under 16 home alone overnight?

Here's some info: https://www.gov.uk/law-on-leaving-your-child-home-alone https://www.nidirect.gov.uk/articles/leaving-children-home-alone I think it largely depends on your children and their personalities/maturity (and if they get into arguments with each other!). If you feel confident in their ab...

Re: Don't want to have husband's friends daughter and son to stay for 6 months but feel mean.

That is a big ask, staying for 6 months is long time and London houses are not big (unless you have a big house) You have two teenage children to consider and their exams. It's all the extra laundry, extra people in the kitchen, the extra food needed and space for it. We had my friend to stay when I...

Re: How to help my teenage daughter with a weight issue?

My parents never commented on my body as a teenager and I am so grateful for that as girls at my school did and I haven't forgotten how that felt. It might be helpful for your daughter to speak to a counselor. And limit time on instagram etc where it's easy to compare yourself to others. You could l...

I had my last baby at C&W NSH, we wanted to book the private room after birth but they were at capacity, so there is no guarantee a room will be available, there is a waitlist but we opted not to go on it as there were a number already in the queue. Which was a shame as the post recovery ward is...

Re: Two or three year gap between siblings?

We have exactly a 3.5 year age gap between our two, it has been great, I was able to spend time with the baby at home while our older child was at school nursery, he was a little put out when the baby was born but overall he was OK. All our family are overseas so I wasn't keen on having them close t...

Re: Is a near 30 year age gap too big in a relationship?

I had a boyfriend when I was 22 who was 12 years older, we broke up because we were at different stages, I can see later on it may not have been so much of an issue but I'm glad my husband and I are within 5 years of each other. Looking at my close friends parents who have an age gap of 10 years plu...
