Re: Ear Piercing - Tips ?

Maria Tash in both Liberty and Harrods is out of stock of the plain, no stone earrings for the foreseeable future. My daughter was so disappointed having waited for a month for the appt. I was also very disappointed that they hadn’t warned me beforehand. The cheapest pair of earrings they could pier...

Air raid shelter removal question

I have what I think is an air raid shelter in my back garden. It is like a large brick shed with double thickness walls, extremely thick concrete roof and floor and a tiny door. We really want to get it removed but our gardener says it’s too big a job. Has anyone had one of these removed from their ...

Re: dishonest about bursary application

The bursary system is very vague, differs wildly by school, and is often decided upon on a case by case basis. You don’t know the factors that the school considered to offer the bursary. After investigation they may already know that there were ‘errors’ in the application but decided to remain discr...

Re: Ear Piercing - Tips ?

My daughter is going to Maria Tash at Liberty on Thursday so i’ll let you know how it goes. (Chose MT as it’s needle, not gun so less pain and less damage to the ear.) Lots of tattooist and piercing studios won’t do under 16/18 so if you look into Kinky Ink and it’s for your child/teenage check thei...

Re: Skateboarding and Rollerblading camp on Clapham Common 27-31 May 2019

Hi, I booked today for my son on Tuesday and Wednesday half day. I was charged £70 per day, not the £60 as advertised on this site, plus the 15% discount didn't work?! So I thought I was going to be charged £102 but ended up paying £140. I went ahead and booked anyway as needed to get it done as it'...

Re: Nanny holiday sick pay practice

When we had a nanny, in the contract we would provide 20 days holiday plus bank holiday days. I received 25 days holiday in my job so I had 5 days I could use if I needed to because the nanny was sick. In reality, the nannies we had were never sick and so they would end up having 25 days holiday. Th...

Re: reception 2019 and dolphin school clapham

Take a look at Wandsworth Prep. It's a very nurturing school, not too far from you and sounds to be exactly what you're looking for.

Good luck!

Re: Rights for "common law wife"

As others have said, you don't have any spousal rights and this is a real issue if one of you were to die due to inheritance tax. Probably more of an issue than if you were to split up as your other half has a financial responsibility to his children, although not you. I know of a few couples who ha...

Re: What's the most concern about child education?

There is a really useful website called The School Run with lots of helpful resources to supplement your child's learning.

https://www.theschoolrun.com

But have fun together too! You could do a worksheet or 2 followed by going out for mummy and daughter supper as a treat for working so hard.

The search function no longer seems to work. The only results are newsletter results as opposed to users posts.

Re: Have you used Koru Kids?

I tried to use them as I know the owner, Rachel a little. The only reason I didn't in the end is that they really struggled to find me an after school nanny that lived in my area. Most lived north of the river or near South Bank meaning that they couldn't get to me in time for school pick up. Their ...

Re: What has happened to Nappyvalleynet

I agree with Julian re opening a new page every time you click on a topic. That drives me mad and has stopped me using the site as much.

Also, the layout doesn’t work on an iPhone as you can’t see the full text (as others have said).
