Re: Husband wants me to ask friend to pay for parking permit when they leave car

Do your friends realise there is a cost to you for the visitor permit?  They may not and (if they are half decent) on learning so would be mortified that you'd paid for them before. Aren't you limited on how many days of visitor permits you can get anyway?

Re: Drop-in sessions so public can find out more about Parkrun consultation for Battersea Park

What is not mentioned above is that access to playgrounds, astroturf and go ape will be severely restricted from 0830-1000 every Saturday. This has been confirmed at the consultation. Also the Rosery gate will be closed.

Just to flag there is a public consultation regarding the establishment of a park run in Battersea Park every Saturday.  To facilitate this, the Rosery gate will be closed from 0830-1100 and the Sun Gate toddlers playground, adventure playground, Go Ape and astroturf will be "restricted" (...

Re: Court fight looms over Sainsbury's cat ban after store in Clapham refused entry to customer's assistance cat

Could he shop online for groceries -  if he finds it that stressful to go to a supermarket, maybe a good solution all round?

Re: Thomas' Parents please don't park on street corners

Here's an idea  - oversubscribed private schools could take a proactive approach and use home proximity to school as an admissions criteria.

Re: Which of the Thomas's Schools would you recommend?

They are both good schools, I’d go with wherever the odds are better of getting a place however I have no insights to offer as to which that is! It’s a lottery (literally, I believe).

Re: Brother in law refusing to help my son with work experience

FWIW Covid and the restrictions around it have genuinely altered some work experience programs/the permitting of outsiders in to office spaces. Perhaps there's some genuine reason there.

Re: Hurlingham School?

Don’t sign up for a long commute to primary school if you don’t have to. Nothing to do with the school, but six years of that commute will be really draining.

Re: Football against our kitchen wall

You could have a word as I suspect they don't realise the noise it makes - how about offering to get them one of those small bounce back goals?

Re: Thomas's Battersea Year 1 Uniforms

Hi there. If you contact the school they should be able to put you in touch with the second hand uniform shop, although I’m not sure if that they have access during the holidays. Also they should be able to put you in touch with your form PTA rep, perhaps someone can lend you some uniform?

Re: Thomas’s battersea family to speak to?

The gossip is unfair.   It is (in our direct experience of two children) a warm, happy, nurturing and supportive environment.   I would go with your instincts given you have actually visited!
