Re: What should we expect with lost school notice fees?

Thank you all, we have politely asked that they consider reimbursing us should the place be filled come September. Waiting to hear what they say about this as it is in their contract that they would do this if the place was filled “immediately”. I guess it’s open to interpretation what that means bu...

Re: Child psychologist recommendation

Do contact Anne-Marie Catterall, she was absolutely fantastic when we contacted her some years ago and our son loved working with her. She was very honest and gave very useful feedback. If you look her up you can see her background and contact her if you think it could be a good match. We ended up n...

What should we expect with lost school notice fees?

We have been in the somewhat fortunate position of being offered our aspirational choice of secondary school after been on the waitlist (and we had zero hopes as did not expect this list to move) but this meant that it was received after accepting another offer. The school conditions of course stipu...

Re: Pot smoking neighbours getting out of control ... the smoking that is ...

I had posted about something similar years ago - ended up buying a filter for the kids room as the council didn’t do anything (they live in a council house that’s next to us). I did get a reply more recently that they will look into it but that’s it. Summer is worse as then they sit in the patio and...

Re: Neighbour has cleaner? Is this allowed?

I think if she is coming to an empty house, takes her PPE seriously and travels without using public transport and has the option of not coming then why not. I am completely exhausted after my long shifts on the frontline, struggling to just ensure kids have what they need and they are coping ok at ...

Re: Help! Cannabis smell in toddlers room from neighbour!

I contacted the council a few times and last year or the year before I even sent them a photo of cannabis plants in pots in their back yard but to no avail..... I wrote again recently and got a reply that they will look into it. Their house is a "council" house so it's under a different team apparen...

Re: Oliver House School, Alderbrook or Broomwood?

We have our son at year 5 in Alderbrook and he moved there in year 4 and has thrived. The teachers really invested in education and wellbeing of the children and new headmaster very passionate about his role and the children. The community is really friendly too. Our daughter is in a local private y...

Re: Current Whitgift parents, I need your help

Thank you for the above, our son got into Y6 and the travel has been a concern - do they take a train from south Croydon to Wandsworth common/Balham? Or from East Croydon? Thought South was closest but it also seemed less practical vs East Croydon? The information you have both shared above have bee...

Re: Saturday School for Year 5s - run by Exceptional Academics

We used them and found their tutors very helpful indeed! Our son did just one term with them for 10+ and got offers for Emanuel, trinity and whitgift, waitlisted for kings. Def recommend!

Re: Choosing between schools

Oh my goodness thank you so much for the above all so very helpful. My son got offered whitgift, trinity and Emanuel and we are now in the amazing blessed position of having to choose between them. Choosing between schools

Would love to have opinions from various parents out there about how they are finding Kings Wimbledon/Whitgift/Trinity/Emanuel and if they had any pros/cons for them? We are trying to make our own and would be really curious to know what we may have missed or not thought about. They are all very dif...

King's College Wimbledon 10+

Wondering if anyone would be kind enough to share any insights into what comes up in a 10+ interview for King's? We have just been invited and have no idea how to prepare!
