i also found it very expensive so went elsewhere. I've gone to another salon and been a lot happier.

Re: In Lambeth but hoping for Wandsworth primary - experienc

The closest person gets the place. You apply through your local council, and ask for the Wandsworth school. Sometimes the wandsworth school also has additional forms to fill out so you might then need to send the forms to Wandsworth direct.

Re: Question about au pair étiquette....

We have the opposite problem! Our au pair (who is absolutely lovely by the way, and the children adore her) disappears the minute we walk in the door. Well, we do see her when the wifi goes down, as she comes down to ask for it to be reset. We had to beg her to have one dinner a week with us. She di...

Re: Birthday present debate...

I've never been asked to do it, but it sounds sensible enough to me. If another mum suggested it, I'd say yes. I wouldn't suggest it myself though. I don't really mind what the kids get and not everyone can afford £10. Personally I usually spend a little more so for me, it would be a saving. Regardl...

Re: Can my daughter's friend be trusted?

Another vote here for being too tough on the friend. The mum called you and made sure the phone was returned. I don't think there's anything sinister going on here. I'd advise my child it was their responsibility to take care of their phone.

Personally, you are definitely overthinking this.

Re: Package delivered that I did not order - suspicious

Not sure if relevant but Some friends had a fraudster deliver a package to their house. The credit card had been compromised, and the fraudster used their home address for delivery. He was actually waiting nearby and intercepted the postman walking up to their door and opened the package there. Rath...

Re: Which primary school? Chesterton

Wix were unlucky as there had been an interim head, and the inspection happened two weeks into the first term of the new head. Rapid progress is being made under the new head already. We can already see the difference.

As a parent, it's a great school and highly recommended.

Have your say on aircraft noise in Wandsworth

Hi all I happened to stumble over this on the Wandsworth website. Apologies if it's already been posted, and appreciate this is a subject where people can hold differing views but if you do hold them, now is the time to share them! Cut and pasted from Wandsworth Council website Help stop major aircr...

Re: Santa Claus and presents - dilemna

We also do a mix of presents from Santa and relatives, as many of our relatives live overseas and definitely appreciate thank you notes. The presents we buy are "Santa" presents, presents from others are named from the giver. I think a case of your house, your rules, but recommend discussing well in...

Re: Considering an au pair - what do I need to know?

We have an au pair now our children are school age, but we had a qualified nanny until my youngest turned 3. I don't think you can leave under 2s with unqualified carers but am not 100% sure of the exact rules I have to admit. We were lucky that friends were moving and highly recommended their au pa...

Re: New stamp duty rules

No we're not Petal. All joking aside, you are asset rich, and cash poor. You have assets that far exceed the assets of the average family in the UK. I found your posts amusing in that you don't seem to understand that you are objectively well off, because you define "rich" only on the basis o...

This post is the gift that keeps on giving! :D
Yes, it's was done with built up equity and moving up the ladder.
Getting a mortgage to buy a 1.7m house today is very difficult indeed.
Oh, the AGONY. The INHUMANITY.

Re: Wandsworth Schools Consultation - Question

I've been away (Annabel, it's really hard to access NVN from China! :D ) But just wanted to thank Wansdworth for coming back to my question, much appreciated. I think amending the proposed rule so that it does not affect families who admitted their first child before 2016 and then moved home relying...
