Re: 19 yr old Au Pair looking to meet people of similar age

Brilliant idea. Our Spanish/English au pair would love to meet some local au pairs. We're just off Northcote Road, near Battersea Rise.

Re: Orthodontist

I live BTC but I went to Dr Neil Counihan, at Metamorphosis in Fulham. They're just a stone's throw from the top of Wandsworth Bridge Rd. Parking is easy. Appointments are always quick and they run very close to time. He was highly recommended by my dentist and several other people I know and I was ...

Re: Surveyor for party wall agreement

I've a feeling their fees are pretty standard. I have had experience of several party wall surveyors over the years. You won't do better than Simon Price of The Price Partnership. Got a recommendation for him on this very site and was extremely impressed with his approach and the work undertaken.

Re: Free Pilates session

Another heartfelt endorsement for Michelle. I've been doing Pilates with Michelle for about a year now and can honestly say she's the best instructor I've ever had.

Buggy cleaning

Hi I'm hoping to sell my McLaren Techno XT buggy and I'd like to have it cleaned up first. Can anyone recommend somewhere local that will do a nice job? A few places I've found on the web have one price to do a full service + clean, but I only need a clean as it's barely been used. Grateful for any ...

Re: Are you happy with your highlights?

Does anyone recommend any of these colourists for me? I'm brunette looking for lighter highlights. My original post here: I'm trying to get my long, dark brown hair lighter once and for all (think: Khloe Kardashian/J-Lo/Mila Kunis) but most colourists I've seen are hesitant because they think it wi...

Re: Bicycle for 4 years old girl

Another recommendation for Isla bikes. My older son went from balance bike to Isla bike (no stabilisers) and was riding properly from 3yrs 6mths. Our younger son did the same and was away by 3yrs and 3mths. We sold the Isla CNOC 14" for about £30 less than we bought it for, having been through 2 kid...

Re: Sad news- 3 year old drowns in pool - safety reminder

In a weird coincidence, the friends I was talking about appeared on breakfast TV today talking about their loss and promoting a short film highlighting the dangers of water to the under 4s. The film contains three true stories. Here's the link: http://www.itv.com/goodmorningbritain/news/warning-vide...

Re: Insect repellent

This is such a coincidence. I also heartily recommend Skin So Soft. Borrowed some on holiday last week from a friend who swears by it. She spends lots of time in Scotland and says it even repels the midges there. I looked at the ingredients and it does contain a bit of some form of citronella, which...

Re: Sad news- 3 year old drowns in pool - safety reminder

So sorry to hear. We also have friends whose 3 yr old drowned in a family member's pool during a family get-together.

I think this is the article RunningMum means.

Re: Planning permission for a roof terrace?

Marmitelover, Magnificent7 and Pie81, thank you for all your comments. Just what I was after; helpful, insightful, thought provoking. I have only just received the plans and they are not detailed enough to establish the exact size of the terrace nor do they include any details of screening etc. so I...

Planning permission for a roof terrace?

Hello I have a garden flat and the owner of the flat upstairs has just put in planning permission for a loft conversion with roof terrace. The project includes 2 sets of French doors with juliet balconies (guardrails) and a third set of french doors onto a small roof terrace - all of which overlook ...

Re: Battersea Rise - Changes?

We took the kids to Strada all the time and were so sad to see it boarded up the other day. I was walking past and asked one of the builders who said it was still going to be a Strada but it was taking a bar format. No more pizzas as he said they'd ripped out the pizza oven and most of the kitchen. ...
