Re: Storing children's art

We recently bought the frame that Magdalen suggested, it's great as it displays their 3 'best' pieces of art work (A4) and it is very easy to change the pictures-you literally just slide them out. We got ours from Letterbox on Northcote Rd. We too have a built in fridge and I HATE not having it magn...

Re: Mrs tiggy winkles nursery

Hi, Do you by any chance mean Tiddlywinks? This is on Broomwood rd, and is not a nursery as such, but a 'home from home' sort of first time away from mum environment, where you drop your children for 2 hours to play and have fun with other children. It is run by two amazing mums (I can fully vouch f...

Re: Recommendations for preschools for my 3 year-old

I can only echo what Happymama says, best bet is to ring round. Your best bet is definitely a nursery school rather than a day nursery. This one is also meant to be lovely (I know one or two children who attend) Can I just ask to anyone who may know, Bluebells l...

Re: Toddler art clubs?

There is a lady who runs something called 'Glitterbug Fun', in Battersea Arts Centre on Lavender Hill-I never went, but a friend of mine went with her 2 yr old and loved it. She has a website: which is out of date term d...

Re: Good venue for NCT annual reunion?

What about Chatham Hall on Northcote Rd (opposite the library)?

We had my daughter's 1st and 2nd birthday parties there, and it was great, plenty of space, you can get the little tables and chairs too, there's a small kitchen for preparing food etc.

You book it through Wandsworth Council.

Re: Narrow fitting shoes for a 3 yr old

Possibly Peter Jones in Sloane Sq? I've never had my daughter's feet measured there, but they always look to have quite a good selection. There is also a good shoe shop in Balham a few of my friends get their daughter's shoes from, but I can't remember the name-maybe someone else will!

Re: which baby class?

Hi, My 'baby' is now nearly 2.5 years old, but we moved BTC when she was about 5 months, and I was keen to get involved in lots of classes. Music/singing wise, personally, I much preferred Monkey Music to Tin Pan Annie. We tried both. Louise, who runs MM is lovely, and the classes held my daughters ...

Re: Toddlers' wedding outfit recommendations

Girls or Boys?

They're not cheap, but Lizzie's on Webb's Rd (next to the newsagent) has some gorgeous children's clothes, as does Living Vintage on Wakehurst Rd...

Re: Northcote Gardens, Eveline or Kids Unlimited? Help!

Hi, I have no personal experience of putting my daughter into a day nursery (although we looked at Northcote Gardens when I was looking into going back to work) but have friends who have children at Northcote Gardens and friends with children at Kids Unlimited. They have been happy with both nurseri...

Re: Montessori VS moving to Honeywell/Belleville Nursery...

Thank you for the replies, very helpful. To Mummygalore-I actually know the answer to your question! Belleville nursery is 2.5 FULL days (no other option as far as I understand it) Honeywell nursery is 5 mornings (9.15-11.45) plus one full day after the first half of term OR 5 afternoons (not sure o...

Nursing chair for sale, £75 ONO

Hi, I have a John Lewis nursing chair and footstall for sale, it's this one: Unfortunately I don't have the instructions anymore, and the covers need a wash, but I am desperate to get rid of it, as we don't have the space! Collect from between the comm...

Anyone know anywhere local who would re-cover a chair?

Hi, I'm about to inherit an armchair and footstool from my grandparents-and I'd like to get it re-covered in Cath Kidston (or similar) fabric (preferably washable covers that can be zipped on, but I'd also be willing to consider just normal upholstery). Does anyone know anywhere (or anyone!) between...

Montessori VS moving to Honeywell/Belleville Nursery...

Hi all, We live BTC and have a daughter who will start one of the local private Montessori nurseries in September, aged 2.5 yrs. We are lucky in that we should be near enough to get into either Honeywell or Belleville school for Reception in 2013, assuming the 'catchment' areas don't shrink to even ...
