Re: Live out nanny - how much?

It is very, very expensive! 34k for a full time 5 day role sounds about right-hence why it is out of our reach when I go back to work!!

We are planning on getting a 2 day nanny (other childcare for 3 days) and will be paying £200 for 2 days (AFTER tax and NI).

Re: Private GP for chicken pox vaccine?

Battersea Rise Group Practice do it. I had my daughter's done there. It's an NGS GP, but you just pay for it, I think it was £100 ish.

Would you put a 2 yr old in a bottom bunk?

Our little boy is 18 months, so in a few months time we'll be making the move to a big bed. However, space is limited, and he shares, and will continue to share, with his sister (who will be 5 and a half when he turns 2). Currently she is in a cabin bed, and he has a cot, but we'd love to get a bunk...

Re: Summer Camp recommendations

Your 2 yr old is probably too young to be dropped off, although I've heard Youngstars allow this. For your 4 yr old, my daughter loved/loves all the following: Playball camp: www.playballlondon.com Fancy Footwork ballet Summer School: www.fancyfootwork.co.uk Theatre bugs: www.theatrebugs.co.uk Activ...

Re: Need advice-when to start searching for a childminder

I'd start looking now. Obviously it's hard for childminders to be able to predict what their availability will be like, but I think it's still worth starting. I know of 2 FAB childminders, one in SW12 and one in SW11, like I say, no idea what their availability will be like in December, but I can pu...

Thursday and Friday nanny wanted-late August start

Hi there, We are looking for a live out, experienced nanny on Thursdays and Fridays (days are non-negotiable I'm afraid) for our two children, a girl who will be 5, and a little boy who will be coming up to two. Our little girl goes to a local school 2 mins (max) walk from our house, so from 9.15-3....

Smashed iphone screen-repair in SW11?

Hi, Really annoyingly I dropped my iPhone, and without a case (I know, I know) it smashed the screen. I'd like to get it repaired asap, preferably while I wait (I think such a thing exists!). Can anyone recommend somewhere local (Northcote Rd/Clapham Junction) to get it repaired asap (i.e. tomorrow)...

Re: What DO we want on Northcote Road???

Yep, definitely a post office counter in the newsagents between Chatto and Dulka rd (next to Sammy Duder's pottery studio). They send parcels etc but don't do services like tax discs or passports... They're really friendly, one time I forgot my purse, and they let me owe it to them (I'm a regular th...

Re: Night time potty training

Absolutely no need to rush this. Leave the pull ups on, and try again in a few months. It is not uncommon at all to still need pull ups at aged 4. My DD was dry at night early, but I imagine my little boy will take much longer. She's done well to 'get' potty training so easily, so I really wouldn't ...
