Re: Do fee paying schools offer help if you get into financial difficulty

Bursaries are also only given to super bright kids (not saying yours aren’t). There has to be some return (A*s) for the school. Friends of mine didn’t realise this and put their child through the pain of tutoring and exams with no real chance of being able to afford it if they got a place. Not fair ...

Re: Sister in law has asked if my teenage niece can lodge with us

As one poster said, it totally depends on what sort of person she is. If she’s kind and considerate then it could be a lovely experience for you all. If you’ve seen a wild side already then I’d think very carefully... Also you’d hope that she’d behave more considerately for you than she would for he...

Re: Recommendation Needed: TTC, Over 40, Low AMH

Hi This was a while ago so things may have changed, and also I was in my mid thirties with unexplained fertility issues, but.... We tried the Lister first. I would not recommend the experience we had there - we felt like we were on a conveyor belt and shoved through a standard process with no person...

Re: Friend wants to bring another family friend on our holiday

Grrrr how annoying. And as one poster said, she won’t have a clue what’s she’s done as she’s in the other camp. And if you mention any of the points above (bedrooms, kids being tired etc.) you’ll look petty. The two nights thing is a good idea (although not sure how practical it is getting an Americ...

I’m sure nutrition plays a huge part but the mini pill sorted me out straight away. Headaches disappeared instantly. Although not having had a period for years now, I have no idea what happens as you head towards the menopause

Re: Cyclist single mum recalls terrifying moment she thought she was going to die during crash with Tesco lorry in Claph

I don’t want to deflect from the horrible plight of this poor lady, but well-said Janee.
It seems to me that cyclists want to treated as vehicles when it suits them and pedestrians when it doesn’t.

Bikes are “king of the road”? Is that why they repeatedly go through the traffic lights on red at the Broomwood Rd / Northcote Rd junction?

Best wishes to the poor woman - I will donate some money now.

Re: Baby name clash - NCT group - keep or switch?

I wouldn’t be the least offended if you picked the same name - surely it’s a compliment. Especially if it’s a traditional name. Go for it.

Half Term Clubs

Can anyone recommend any half term clubs for October? My kids are 11, nearly 12 (boy and girl).

We’ve always done Activ Camp but they seem to be outgrowing it a bit now.

Somewhere that takes childcare vouchers would be even better.

Thank you.

Re: Police on bramfield road - any idea what happened?

Does anyone know how to use NextDoor for crime alerts only? I got so much rubbish about baby clothes and au pairs that I had to unsubscribe. I’d really like the alerts though.
Thank you.
