Re: Advice on pupil behaviour needed

Deliberately taking a photograph of a specific person without their permission is against the law. The police and security services have to get authorisation to do that. CCTV is targeted against locations (which do not have human rights) not individuals identified in advance. In the end it boils dow...

Re: Only afford to send one to private school

I was the only one out of four children to go to private school and there was no way my parents could have afforded to send both of us. It was never a problem in any way. I believe you do the best you can for each of your children according to their individual needs and your resources at the time - ...

Re: Swimming lessons for a 1 year old

Drive a little further to Colliers Wood and go to Dolphins swim school - - they specialise in teaching parents and babies in a purpose-built pool which is at a temperature that ensures the little ones don’t get cold - public swimming pools are too cold for babies.

Re: Bolingbroke Academy

This is a serious issue - a child who is suffering at school and feeling that he/she is being treated unfairly cannot and will not learn effectively and reach their potential. It is not to be dismissed or trivialised - if the approach works for other children - good for them, it doesn’t mean that it...

Re: Ravenstone vs Rutherford House primaries

Rutherford is getting increasingly crowded - what was a great space a few years back is now struggling as more kids join each year and the current pupils grow bigger and take up more space! Some disappointingly unimaginative and slow responses to children with additional needs detected after joining...

Re: Help/advice needed with CFS or Fatigue pb

Remove caffeine and refined sugar from your diet - use water-processed decaf and natural sugar alternatives (I’m not a fan of deprivation and denial!) - take a Vitamin B complex. And at the same time pursue a second opinion with a different GP - you are entitled to a second opinion. Fingers crossed...

Re: Abbeville Road Baby and Children's clothes shop

There is probably a gap in the market for modern, fun and good value clothing along the lines offered in Zara kids etc. The local market is flooded in terms of organic/ethically sourced/ expensive options. Re Toys/gifts - there are lots of local options already - and it is hard to compete with onlin...

Re: Glue Ear?

I had exactly this situation with my son at age 3-4 - he is now 16! Be careful going quickly for grommets - I knew a number of friends whose children with grommets had repeated ear infections and lots of time off school (grommets hold the ear canal open meaning that as well as sound being able to pe...

Re: These are Wandsworth's best primary schools for Key Stage 2 results in 2017

Well said Pud1 Lists like this of numbers of children achieving a certain level tell us more about the intake of a school than they do about quality of teaching and learning. Many excellent Wandsworth schools will never make it anywhere near this list because their pupils arrive with little or no En...

Re: Survey on mums managing work after children!!

Done! Just a small point - q7 is quite hard to answer consistently as it's not clear how the scale 1-5 is defined - is 1 = disagree and 5 = agree? Your results may be affected by respondents interpreting the scale in different ways

Re: Primary school entry, Sept 2017

Hi! There is another thread on exactly the issues you raise if you haven't found it already. Wix is becoming part of Belleville (as a result of its Ofsted report) - changes will happen quickly (and are already tangible in just a few months) so I'd recommend you also go and have a look at Belleville ...
