Ever liked the idea of learning how to fillet fish? Some courses are pretty expensive and take a whole day but ours are 2 hours on a weekday evening, in your neighbourhood! Faircatch's very first fish prep workshop comes to Barmouth Kitchen on Thursday 25th June 7-9pm. We’ve been lucky enough to sec...

Re: Wandsworth council swimming price madness

We got cards for our daughters last week and it's my understanding that you pay £2 each child for the first swim and thereafter it entitles them to fee swimming in any of the boroughs' pools run by places for people until they are 8. This is a great benefit to offer but a shame they do nothing to pu...

Re: door to door fish

I don't feel I have sufficient information to comment on the disagreement above but have to agree with mungomuffit. We are an hour from the coast in Nappy Valley and ought to support our local fishermen and women. Faircatch currently sources from Sussex and Hampshire, always within 90 minutes drive ...

Re: Support Wandsworth's first sustainable fish-box scheme

A "box" can be 0.75kg / week (enough for two servings) but frankly I can eat that much myself without any difficulty! You should have received a thank you email in response, may have gone to your junk mail... Cod, lemon sole and gurnard this week.

Re: Support Wandsworth's first sustainable fish-box scheme

Hi Jimisayo, If you registered your interest on the site then you will have been added to our mailing list to receive our newsletter (Sorry, I just haven't had the chance to write one in the last fortnight!). I'm afraid we don't really do one-off boxes. A fish box scheme is a subscription model so i...

Re: Support Wandsworth's first sustainable fish-box scheme

This week our lucky members got the freshest wild sea bass in London, caught and landed at about midday on Friday in Emsworth, in their bags by 3.30pm and (I'd imagine) on their plates by 8pm. The farmed version, often from Turkey, is a great deal cheaper but a wild fish trumps it for taste every ti...
