Re: Recommended dentists SW11 SW12?

Ten Dental in Balham (next to Waitrose) is brilliant - I can highly recommend Johannes and Ben. The rest of my family go to Glow on Northcote Road but I think Ten has the edge.

Re: Biting and other injuries in toddler room at nursery

I can honestly say that neither of my children were ever bitten in their 4.5 years (between them) at nursery nor have ever bitten themselves. Having said that I am aware I have been lucky as I know it is fairly common amongst toddlers - I recall my little sister biting me on a few occasions! But, it...

Re: Babychinno

Interesting to read about the history of babycinno and how to make it - not surprisingly sounds like the milk should be frothed as per a cappuccino - thanks for sharing. Gosh what a first world issue to have though!

Re: Renovating: House layout advice

Honestly speaking it sounds like option a is less likely to be off putting to future buyers. I remember our architect and estate agent advising us that buyers with young children are often put off by a master suite on the second floor (ie above rather than on same floor or below the children) in cas...

How do i change my password on NVN?

Hi, apologies if this is a really silly question but how do I change my log in password to NVN? I have tried going to "my profile" and to edit my profile but can't obviously see how I do it.
Thanks in advance! :|

Re: What's your postal delivery like?

We are just off Trinity Road (SW18) and often our post does not arrive until late afternoon. And I am not sure the post gets delivered every day...think your experience is probably quite a common one unfortunately.

Re: Waxed Floors Battersea Rise

Oh an I do remember a slightly snotty receptionist/saleswoman but I ended up dealing with Christof for the most part who was a pleasure to deal with.

Re: Waxed Floors Battersea Rise

We used Waxed Floor a couple of years ago to fit a wood floor to our ground floor (kitchen, playroom and parquet to the hallway area). We were extremely impressed by Christof and his team - they were hugely professional, very knowledgeable and the quality of the fitting and the floor was fantastic. ...

Re: Thomas's Battersea, Newton Prep or Merlin

I don't know Merlin school but both Thomas's Battersea and Newton Prep are very good schools and will offer your son an excellent education. If you are offered a place at all 3 schools I would really try and go with your gut feel re how you and your son will fit it at the school. I think there is a ...

Re: Rutherford house Ofsted report

I don't think there is a school out there in either the state or independent sector that doesn't have some sort of niggles or others. If the main niggles are over uniform and admin then I would say that is a good thing...it would be far worse to have concerns over pastoral care, quality of teaching ...

Re: Nursery food

In my view the odd jam or honey sandwich is too bad as long as it isn't every day. It is quite usual for nurseries to give a "lighter" meal for tea ie not always hot. With re to puddings, all nurseries and schools will provide a pudding - again I think everything in moderation - so I have no issue w...

and yes I think it is fair to expect nanny to do "normal" nanny duties if share is split between your home and other families.
