Mon and Fri morning PT session @wandsworh Common - looking for someone to share

Hi, I have a personal trainer with whom I train outside at 7:10-8:10 am on Monday and Friday mornings, on Wandsworth Common (the Chivalry Road end of it). I used to train with another mum but she moved away. I have been training for a year and the trainer is lovely, we do a mix of cardio, resistance...

Re: Extending existing loft conversion

Sorry if I hit a sensitive topic here! From what I understand, anyone can do a set of drawings and put them forward for Planning permission, not just a qualified architect - is that right? Joe had an architect working for him to do the drawings and took care of the whole process from the initial (fr...

Re: Extending existing loft conversion

Hi, we have recently done such an extension (no previous box room but our loft front was done) and what I want to say is that you need to start with an architect and a structural engineer before going to a builder. Our Planning application took a while because despite it being permitted, the council...

Re: C-section dilemma

I was exactly in the same boat as you with my second after a very traumatic first delivery (including forceps and my daughter suffering from a facial palsy for quite some time! Thankfully that all cleared). I was given the go-ahead for elective c-section and was literally booked in and went that mor...

Re: Good NHS GPs in the area?

Second Begg practice. Have been with them for over 4 years and 2 kids since newborns. They really go out of your way (eg getting me a prescription to the nearest pharmacy after telephone consultation the same eve, when I rang up at 5 pm about it!).

Re: Dumped christmas tree caused me injury

I am very sorry about your injury. I live on Mallinson Road (the end near Wandsworth common) and the Xmas trees have not been collected during the last 2 collection dates which means they have been littering the pavement for the past 2 weeks and are clearly a hazard. I just logged a “missed collecti...

Re: Recommendation needed for large family holiday to South Africa

Hopefully you know that the water near Cape Town is extremely cold... For that reason, as our daughter loves the beach and swimming, when we went to South Africa on a family holiday, we opted for staying near Durban, which meant another internal flight. We rented a house in Zimbali Lodge and it was ...

Re: What DO we want on Northcote Road???

We had brunch at Arlo’s the other day and it was delightful. They seem really busy, and so are Bill’s and Made in Italy. When will businesses wake up to the fact that reasonably priced restaurants selling good food do really well on Northcote Road? And not boutique clothes shops nor yet another over...

Re: Builder recommendations

My friends (2 sets) have been extremely happy with PVA builders that I think would fit the bill. The only issue is that if you want to start in the new year, the good builders will be very busy! I would start arranging meetings / quotes asap. We have done a lot of work on our house and used "one man...

Re: Northcote House nursery - can you recommend?

My daughter was there for a few months when she was 2. I think there are good and bad parts. PM me if you would like my opinion.

However, I know many parents who have kids there and are very happy.

Re: Leaving work notice period

I second the other opinions that it is negotiable and always better to leave a good impression. Perhaps not very honest but you could invent a "personal" reason why you have to be leaving overseas or just leaving (e.g. Having surgery or a sick relative etc), which means they would be more sympatheti...
