Re: Please help me decide

Hi I think it really depends what you see yourself wanting long-term? Also what sex are your children? I know we’re all meant to be gender neutral these days but we have two boys and they are literally climbing the walls now due to having no garden to speak of and if I have to tell my 8 year old one...

Re: Grandma's funeral

We took our children, eldest was 6, youngest was 3. We left the 3 year old outside (with someone!) for practical reasons but the 6 year old came in. Personally I think children are much more black and white than adults and deal with things like that much better than the adults - they just accepted t...

Re: Challenging Wandsworth parking penalty charge notice (PCN)

I had a response way after the period they give to pay the lower amount but the lower amount still stood so don’t worry about that part, it takes them ages to respond. Good luck!

Re: Screen time and young children

I agree re the balance and banning just makes them addicted later on when they’re in control themselves. I know someone addicted to the TV as an adult and am sure it’s because they were so restricted as a child! We have second hand iPads for our kids purely with educational games and often because t...

Re: Sister in law has asked if my teenage niece can lodge with us

Well not exactly the same but we’ve had lots of au pairs not much older and I find them surprisingly mature and no trouble at all plus could mean you have a live in babysitter??

Emergency coil fitting!

This is a bit personal but I need a Merena coil replaced urgently - can anyone recommend anywhere you can do it privately so you don’t hand to wait ages for an apt? It needs to be ASAP

Re: Recommendation for a Au Pair firm?

I agree with the above. I have used au pair world about six times now and have always had amazing au pairs. It can be time consuming but you learn what to look for. I used an agency once when I had to get someone very quickly and it was a disaster! They sent me terrible au pairs and I realised I cou...

Marriage ‘coach’

Hi I am looking for a marriage counsellor who’s more like a life coach who can give practical advice and tips on how to manage a difficult marriage. My husband is highly argumentative, hates communicating and very private and would never go to a counsellor. I believe very strongly (having tried for ...
