Re: Did you vote tactically for labour in Battersea, as best chance to avert Brexit? Fancy meeting to pressure our MP?

Anyway, Brexit is never really going to happen. As they go along they are watering it down more and more. The latest wheeze being that we can just be members of EFTA, and not be subject to the rulings of the ECJ, but we will be subject to the rules of the EFTA court, that follows all the decisions o...

Re: Did you vote tactically for labour in Battersea, as best chance to avert Brexit? Fancy meeting to pressure our MP?

GuyD73: my first point was simply that there were so many other issues which were also important in the election. If people voted merely on the one issue this could lead us into all sorts of problems - in fact we are seeing that. We have a mess with Brexit but we are also seeing increasing mess in ...

Re: Leander swimming club trials

You mean the video? I took that to mean the standard they were working towards. The age range they are looking at points to their squads, or presquad though.

Leander swimming club trials

Leander swimming club are holding trials for 8-9 year olds to enter the club. It's not really clear to me whether they are looking to recruit swimmers for their squads, or for the academy - but they are trying to expand the club to be able to compete with some of the biggest clubs in the region. Nex...

Re: Did you vote tactically for labour in Battersea, as best chance to avert Brexit? Fancy meeting to pressure our MP?

I don't really have a lot of faith in polls, most of them said Brexit would never happen. I also don't think it's really possible to change people's minds about an issue that they will never be able to fully rationalise anyway. They will always fall for the spin of Nigel, Boris, Michael, Liam & co. ...

You should probably just change the subject to 'General election - vote for leaving the EU?'.

Re: General election - vote for staying in EU?

Hi I 'tweeted' this at the local lib dems and this was the response... With #GE2017 set to go, we are calling for a referendum on the deal that is negotiated. See http://www.libdems.org.uk/general-election-2017-tim-faarron … for more info The problem with this is that the LibDems are never going to...

Re: Living with a child on Queenstown Road?

Obviously the plus points are the already excellent transport links (two train lines and lots of busses - personally I'm not sure that the Northern line extension will make a lot of difference, considering that Vauxhall, Sloane Square and Clapham Common tube stations are so close), the river, Batter...

Re: General election - vote for staying in EU?

I have no idea :-o but I figured that a government with a majority could do pretty much anything. But I may be wrong... They obviously can, like go against the fixed term parliament Act, which was brought in by David Cameron to exactly prevent shinanigans like this. The most obvious explanation for...
