Re: Labour MP for Battersea, Marsha de Cordova comes out in support of a People's Vote!

daddydaycarerocks:  Well of course Chelsea, if the draw worked out that way, would get another go the next season.  If (and I accept it's an if) opinion has changed and there is now a majority for Remain, then how could leaving be described as democratic or the will of the people?  And anyway why no...

Re: Labour MP for Battersea, Marsha de Cordova comes out in support of a People's Vote!

Ratski Yah boo sucks to you too .... When you look at the financial backers of the so called ‘People's Vote’ you soon realise it has nothing to do with ordinary people. Ah well - Peter Hargeaves, Arron Banks, Crispin Odey, James Dyson, Jim Ratcliffe ..... When you look at the financial backers of V...

Re: Moving the TV

Check out a Powerline adapter that plugs the router in its current location into the 13 amp mains and distributes the signal around the house using the mains electricity circuit.  We use a Devolo https://www.devolo.com/internet-in-any-room.html (Netgear make one too) and it works really well as long...

Re: Extendling lease with freeholder - recommendations for legal?

Gregsons Solicitors in Wimbledon - talk to Alexandra Adam.  They have handled dozens in a big block of flats that I know, and it's like clockwork.  As always get a quote first.  Hope that helps.

Website Redesign

A local not-for-profit is looking to refresh its website over the next few months.  The primary functions of the website are (1) to provide information (2) manage sales, with payments actually made through a third party, and (3) provide detailed reports, rather than selling per se .  We are quite op...

Re: Unauthorised Absence from School

But in a democracy it's not about IMO, except in our obsessively entitled society.  So many people rationalise their own transgressions of laws and regulations, and then condemn others.  I mean, in a country where people will really struggle to make ends met over Christmas, would you perhaps condone...

WARNING - WAITROSE CAR PARK CARD SCAM

This is to warn everyone against a card scam in the Waitrose Balham car park. I was fiddling around this morning with the new car park ticket machines in the Waitrose Balham car park, which don't (yet) accept contactless.  As I went to sort out the time etc a man came up to help, which he did very c...

Re: Wandsworth Resident parking permits - no renewal reminder and a parking ticket?

Emma_gulson:  I don't know if this applies to Wandsworth parking tickets, but I once appealed against a TFL penalty for stopping in a yellow hatched box (and won:  the CCTV showed a mother with a buggy jumping the pedestrian lights, so I had the option to stop or run her over).  I was very impressed...

PSAD Christmas Fair - why buy mass produced presents????

I am not a student of Putney School of Art & Design, but last evening attended a public lecture (entitled "Great Tarts in Art" - and no, it was not about cooking!!).  On display were some of the things made by students.  I was amazed by the local talent, especially of the potters, and saw some thin...

Re: Cyclist single mum recalls terrifying moment she thought she was going to die during crash with Tesco lorry in Claph

I too concede the space, and if necessary stop, and always try to remember the old guidance about giving a cyclist as much space as a car when overtaking.  But it really is an effort sometimes, because cyclists so often claim the moral high ground. A couple of years ago, in a car, I came out of one ...

Re: Wandsworth Resident parking permits - no renewal reminder and a parking ticket?

I don't know if it helps much but on their website it says that reminders come from DoNotReply_Wandsworth@tarantocloud.com which could easily be mistaken for junk mail, and it asks you to mrk it as a 'safe sender'.  It can't do any harm to do so, and may save this sort if nonsense.
