Re: Mousehouse : child left behind in playground !!

Sorry I am speculating about the ofstead rating, isn't safe guarding a big thing for them? So no idea if they will.
First hand knowledge, I know the family.

Re: Mousehouse : child left behind in playground !!

I doubt local nurseries need to drum up business they are all over subscribed! I know many happy families at mouse house but I also heard about the incident. Very serious in my view, of course they can't say much until the investigation is complete but the child was left behind and was returned to t...

Re: Eaton House The Mannor Girls School

I think both schools are as diverse as you can expect from private schools in the area. How old is your child? For the non selectives you really need to register by the time they are 6 months ( Hornsby recommends by 3 months!)

Re: Broomwood - parents opinions please

Got it. My colleague has three very happy children there and says that the focus on 11+ is increasing at parents' request. For what it's worth I think almost everyone tutors at 11.

Re: Broomwood - parents opinions please

Have you taken a look at Hornsby House? They have an 11+ only focus and the latest results are incredible (not published yet but shown at the open day) They had 4 offers for Kinds, 14 from Alleyns, 10 from Jags etc etc All this from a totally non selective intake at reception. Its also has a reputat...

Re: Thomas's Clapham, Streatham and Clapham Prep offers

I just think they should be open about this. They should say, the vast majority of the children we accept in reception come from the following 2 nurseries. Parents might chose to go to those nurseries if they are really keen on T? Instead they make a big deal about it, in fact I only looked into bec...

Re: Thomas's Clapham, Streatham and Clapham Prep offers

It does now list scholarships but personally I like to see how many offers have been made to acceptances at each school as the strongest candidates will have multiple offers so seeing offers alone is not that helpful. All very odd. On the nursery front I have this first hand, there is a strong relat...

Re: Thomas's Clapham, Streatham and Clapham Prep offers

I fell for the 'twinkle in the eye' line I am afraid! Most people do expect to stay at the school until 11 or 13 and it's ironic that T make a big deal of that when they show you round and indeed in their offer letter where they state that that is the expectation and they don't prepare or expect chi...

Re: Thomas's Clapham, Streatham and Clapham Prep offers

I am now even regretting sending DC for the assessment at Thomas's after hearing these stories and indeed hearing what is happening at a couple of nurseries on or off the Ncote road where the heads seem to have a special relationship with the registrar. Calls being made to ensure 'their' children ma...

Re: Thomas's Clapham Wait List

I believe all deposits had to be in by Friday so you may hear this week? About 50% of the waiting list was offered last year, you may also get offered a place once the state schools offer places in April. Good luck!

Re: Thomas's Clapham, Streatham and Clapham Prep offers

We are going for HH in the end, I am sure a family somewhere will be thrilled as I know the waiting list for Thomas's is long and fraught from what I can tell!

I just have a gut feel that DD is going to be happier in something smaller and more low key.

Re: Thomas's Clapham, Streatham and Clapham Prep offers

Yes thank you so much for all these insights incredibly valuable. I suspect Hh has a subtly different demographic, less likely to move out of london and so less likely To have places comes up. A lot of our friends who go to Thomas's actually end up leaving london after a few years. Much food for tho...
