Try Manuel Moves - a local company. I have no direct experience of them but such a lovely couple I met at our street party this year.

Re: Simply Extend / Builder Team - any views ?

Basically, a lot of the problems with these companies are due to subcontracting workers. So there is a chain of people earning and very low paid labourers actually doing the work. And lack of accountability as a result when the boss of the company is so far removed from the project.

Re: Simply Extend / Builder Team - any views ?

We used them 5 years ago and they did an okay job in the end but I wouldn't recommend them. Simply Extend gave us a what seemed a good value quote but there will be hidden extras and also sloppy work, low skilled workers and workers not showing up and going over the agreed timescale.l for completion...

Re: Do well paying decent part time jobs exist? And how do I find those?

Someone recommended "2to3days.com" for professional part time roles geared towards mothers. Personally I'm not there yet, but will be looking around soon for something that works for our family.
Good luck!

Recommending my cleaner, Patricia, Tooting, Balham, Wandsworth Common etc

I stupidly gave the wrong number, or missed out a digit for my cleaner. Having just received a PM that was dated a while ago, I would like to add her details as she is looking for more hours. Patricia: 07460 594 065 I highly recommend her. She is very efficient and reliable and we are happy to have ...

Re: reviews for Kingston hospital?

Hello, my second was born Kingston and I could not fault it. It's small and has a cosier feel than the larger hospitals. My first born was born at St Marys, Paddington , amazing staff during the labour but the aftercare was horrendous with some pretty horrible temporary staff and breast feeding Nazi...

Re: To Board or Not To Board?

Nope. There are children who board at age 7 still in this country.

Re: 17 year old boy killed outside Clapham Tube Station

I have to agree with the mayor, it will take a generation to fix this ruthlessness and I do believe we are seeing how years of austerity has by and large mostly affected disadvantaged communities. It sickens me that it has got so bad we are not even shocked any more by these stabbings. from Professo...

Re: To Board or Not To Board?

There is a massive difference between boarding at age 13+, or 11+ and boarding from age 7 or 8. I cannot see it as anything other than cruel and neglectful. My husband and his brother boarded from age 13 and had a fantastic experience and were definitely more mature at university than those living a...

Re: Slipped lumbar disc & Physio/Pilates

I love the Recentre too. You can buy 12 class passes and choose different Pilates classes as long as they are used within 3 months. All brilliant teachers and lovely studio. I hope you recover quickly with help from a physiotherapist with physio-led pilates and get into Pilates and/or Yoga ( big bel...

Re: Slipped lumbar disc & Physio/Pilates

I am so sorry about your back problems. It really is excruciatingly painful and leaves your feeling very vulnerable and frightened. I had an aggravated disc nearly 2 years ago and I visited a physiotherapist in Balham (Thurleigh Practice) who was recommended to me by a mum at the school gate who had...
