Re: The Ultimate Mamas Christmas Party

Sounds like fun! I'm a mum and a freelancer and have been thinking about a Christmas party for one. I was considering having a plus one (my husband) but I'm not sure my budget would stretch!! 😀😀 This is a great idea for anyone missing out on the office party fun! Thanks SW Mamas That Can, I will che...

Re: To Board or Not To Board?

That is the question!! I went to boarding school and I hated it. My brother went to boarding school and he loved it. I think lots of parents get wowed by the prestige, grandeur, history, academics and facilities at boarding school, but before you look at any of that, my advice is to really understan...

Re: Hey, please could you help with my final year project on food waste at Brighton University?

I've completed the survey.  Sounds like a fantastic project. My pet hate is wasting food. It was drilled into me as a child not to throw food away so I do the same with my kids. Perhaps it's something to do with our parent's generation of using everything to the max, repairing and recycling items an...

Re: Pumpkin Carving with the kids?

I love Halloween. Normally I let the kids choose what they want on their pumpkin, but I do all the carving. They are only 6 and 4. To be honest, after watching me carve for about 5 mins, they get bored so I call them over once I'm done. I give them battery operated candles and they like putting them...

Re: Clearly God doesn’t love you, that’s why you’re in a wheelchair

This is absolutely disgusting. And why hasn't the bus driver intervened? I've just looked up TFL's guidelines to bus drivers on wheel chair access (the latest I can find is Oct 2017) and I think it's too soft frankly. I know bus drivers shouldn't put themselves at risk but they should be able to con...

Re: Bouncy Castle

Yes. Bubble & Bounce are brilliant and have a wide selection of bouncy castles and inflatables. My garden is quite small and they had a perfect inflatable and ball pit for it! They have everything from big to small and the customer service was great. Here is the link

Re: Chance to meet our MP Marsha de Cordova at the Alma Pub (by Wandsworth Town station) on Thursday 18th October

I was shocked when the nation voted to leave. I was disgusted by the underhand tactics of the official Leave campaigns, but now I am no longer shocked. I feel somewhat naive to have expected that our politicians had any kind of moral dignity.  I'm sad to be honest, very sad. If there is no respect f...

Re: Best toy kitchen for an 18 month old?

We bought ours from George at Asda and it has survived two rough and tumble kind of kids and is still going strong. Lots of options there that won't break the bank.

Also, I just spotted a post on NVN of someone selling their kitchen. viewtopic.php?f=116&t=98475

Re: Bullying at local school

Best thing to do is talk to the teacher and the head. Honeywell will take this very seriously and I am positive will take action to stop it. It is a lovely school and bullying won't be tolerated. It is heartbreaking and your child should not feel like the only option is leaving. Sorry to hear you ar...

Re: Tools

It's not so common here but I remember there was some press around The Library of Things in SE19. They stock tools too, I think but you'd have to check if they have a keyhole saw.
