Re: Would you be happy for your child to spend the day outdoors in a t-shirt today???

Did the child look cold and unhappy?

Remember, most nannies love the children they look after or really care about them at the very least. Just like most parents! Neglect would be very very rare.

Re: Chicken Pox Vaccine

I got my kids done at the GP surgery on Battersea Rise. £50 per jab. Also don't understand why people wouldn't do it. Least of all to save a week or 2 of sleepless nights, upset and potential scarring. I had heard that it was due to be included in the immunisation schedule around the time of the fal...

Re: My toddler keeps hitting others

Gosh, poor you, but please rest assured that this is normal and a lot of children go through this phase. I haven't got much advice as my kids passed through it so quickly so we were lucky that before we knew what to do they had already stopped. But I would say that given that you work full time and ...

Re: Question over a "favourite" child

I think it's normal to some degree. They are different people so it's impossible not to feel differently towards them. My daughter (the eldest) is amazing and I obviously love her dearly but she is challenging, opinionated, feisty, dominant etc etc. I am proud and pleased she is like this and long f...

Re: Tenancy Deposit Scheme- Arbitration

I have as a landlord. My tenant and I had a dispute over the state the property was left in. We both uploaded our cases and any evidence then the decision was made independently with regards to what was due back to the tenants. From memory the decision was final. I had lots of evidence having paid f...

Re: Wanted urgently - ladies bike with child seat

Hi, I have a bike with child seat that you could take a look at if you like? The bike could probably do with servicing as I haven't ridden it for a couple of years but my hubby could probably do that for you. We could come to an agreed, reasonable (I.e. Cheap) price if you wanted it once you've take...

Re: Muggings by men on scooters in SW18, SW11 and SW12

Papinian, afraid that your statement is incorrect re no Wandsworth officers actually live in Wandsworth. Also, the majority do live in London.

I used Google to find the Sian Berry report you referred to....

Re: Boarding schools - friends locally at the weekend?

From what I gather from friends who have children boarding and from my friends who boarded themselves, i think it is rare for boarders to have close 'home friends' on top of their boarding friends. This has been quite tricky for one of my close friends. Her daughter was a weekly boarder but was regu...

Re: Do you know how much your partner earns?

I don't think its that weird if you have separate bank accounts or are financially independent of each other. I couldn't say for sure how much my husband earns but if I wanted to know he would tell me obviously. I know broadly, but not exactly. He would probably say the same about me. Also, in banki...

Re: Could you recommend your cleaner?

I can highly recommend my cleaner.

She speaks perfect English, is a self-starter who searches the house for things to clean and organise, and is also the sweetest lady you could come across.

She's available to take on more clients from January.

PM me if you would like her contact details.

Re: Broomwood Montessori nursery - SW11's best kept secret

Couldn't agree more. Both my 2 loved every second of their time at Broomwood Montessori. I only wanted a small nursery as I thought sending my 2.5 year old off to a nursery school with 50 or more children would be far too overwhelming. When we were there I think it was a maximum of 16 children which...

Re: Childcare for my toddler while in hospital for new baby

Why don't you get to know an au pair for a bit of babysitting now to get your son used to them. Most of them are pretty free during the day and could be your back up plan until your regular nanny gets off work.

Re: Careers advice for young girl

When I was 15 I'm sure I said a lot of stupid things and most of them said just to p*ss my mother off!

Seb and others thinking it's acceptable and reasonable; that's what I struggle with.

Re: Careers advice for young girl

Actually, very recently my husband made a throw away sexist comment (part in jest, partly serious) and couldn't understand why it touched such a nerve with me. I think it is very hard for men to truly empathise with what its like to grow up and live in a man's world as a woman. In the same way that ...
