Re: Does else really want a baby girl?

I just composed a lovely long response to you and seem to have lost it so firstly I apologise if you hear from me twice! In short, I was in the opposite situation to you. I have two gorgeous girls and really wanted a boy. On the recommendation of a friend I bought How to Choose the Sex of Your Baby ...

Re: Early risings!

I will be watching this post with interest as I share your pain! My daughter is three and has always woken up between 5.30 and 6.30 regardless of how much sleep she gets in the day. We bought a gro-clock which seemed to help for a while, but now she blatantantly ignores it, although it might be wort...

Re: Wanted: Phil and Teds double buggy

Hi there I'm looking to sell my Phil and Ted's Sport. It's three years old, in pretty good nick, and has the doubles kit and rain cover, oh and two pretty new tyres. I had the fabric replaced when it was about six months old and have had no trouble with it since. I can happily take some pictures of ...

Re: Private Midwife for Home Birth

I am planning a home birth with my third baby who is due in a month and I am using Annie and Tina from South London Independent Midwives. http://www.southlondonindependentmidwives.co.uk/ As I haven't had the baby yet I can't fill you in on how it would differ to the nhs births I've had but the care ...

Swedish Au Pair Looking for Friends

We have a lovely, 20 year old Swedish Au Pair who has just arrived in London and doesn't know anyone. She is looking for friends. If anyone has an Au Pair in the same position it would be great if we could get them together, or if you are an Au Pair or nanny looking for someone to hang out with in t...

Re: Fruit & Veg on Northcote Road

Thank you for the prompt on this LittleLegs. I would be really sad if they were no longer on the Northcote Road but am very guilty of buying 99% my veg at the supermarket. I am going to get myself back into the habit of buying from the stall. Do you know what days of the week they are there as I can...

Re: Can anyone recommend local photographer for a small wedding?

I'd really recommend Amy from Amy Blackwood Photography. She is lovely, low key, reasonably priced and takes gorgeous photographs. Here's a link to her website.

Re: estate agent in Balham

I bought my house through Caroline Kennaway at Savills (on Nightingale Lane) and I can't rate her highly enough. I've recommended her on here before and a number of people at the time also said she was great. When we come to sell our house we will definitely be using her. I had my house valued a whi...

Re: Chicken Pox Vaccine

If anyone is looking to have their child vaccinated locally I recently had my girls vaccinated at the Wandsworth Medical Centre's Travel Clinic. It cost £90 per shot. They had one a few weeks ago and we have to return six weeks after the first shot for the second one. They had absolutely no side eff...

Re: Any advice on how to write a will?

My husband and I recently had our Wills drawn up by Ana de la Quintana who I heard about on this site. She lives locally so came to our house to take all of the details and go through all our options, and came back for us to sign the documents. She is LOVELY and I'd highly recommend using her. Her n...

Re: Recommendations for preschools for my 3 year-old

I second the recommendation of the Montessori School. It is great. Both of my girls have also attended one of the Noah's Ark nurseries which are also really lovely. http://www.noahsarknurseryschools.org.uk/

Re: Where to have my baby?

Hi Emele I had both of my babies in the nhs part of Chelsea and Westminster and had great care there as the above poster. I was looking at a private birth for my current pregnancy (for various reasons) and it was incredibly expensive so I have opted for a private midwife who comes to my house for al...

Re: How to get him to give up smoking!!

I am so sorry that you are going through this. I know how frustrating and horrible it is to live with a smoker. My husband has been an on/off smoker all his life and I have felt the same as you do. The breakthrough with my husband came after visiting a hypnotherapist in Guildford. I can't remember h...

Re: Hom much do you pay your cleaner?

My cleaner is officially £8.50 an hour but she has been with us for three years now and in that time has never asked for a payrise or taken a day off sick so I have slowly crept her money up to £10.00 an hour. She is worth every penny!
