Re: Recommendations for preschools for my 3 year-old

Hello and welcome to the area ! Its so difficult around here as everything gets really booked quickly - when I arrived I seemed to be on every waiting list in SW11 !!! You could try Marmalade Cat on Battersea Rise .... you would definitely not be able to get a morning place (people put their kids na...

Re: Northcote rd Dry Cleaners Shambles

I am sorry to hear about your bad experience. I rarely post on NVN I really wanted to say that I have been using them for over 10 years for dry cleaning and for some repairs and alterations and I have never had a negative experience. Excellent work and always so lovely and polite so I was really sur...

Re: We need answers

I do agree but....we live in a civilsed country (or so I thought!) and I am not sure how the police could have be prepared for something of this magnitude ?

What I would love to know is where the parents of these kids were ? Most of them seemed so young...

Re: Recommended Builders or Not as the Case may be

I also agree that the positive comments sound dubious....all the positive comments are from people who joined NPV in the last few days and have only posted once ?? I think very strange.... I think Balmain used to be called Ferreby Construction ? Are they based on Broomwood Road? If they were we had ...

Re: Feedback sought on Thomas's Clapham

MGMidget sorry to hog the post on something not quite related on how good Thomas's Clapham is.... Shopper .... but this if precisely my point. How can they tell in a 20 minute assessment (which I do agree with you is not scary at all !) what a child is like? A 3 year old could be having an off day. ...

Re: Feedback sought on Thomas's Clapham

I only have one issue with this school. How can they really assess a 3 year old ??!! I am not a disgruntled parent who didn't get in. We went for the assessment and we were offered a place....but we were one of the few to turn it down. With this assessment they try to create this "exclusive school" ...

Re: Anyone else get harangued outside Northcote Library today?!

I have re-read all the posts and I am sorry I cannot see why you feel like you have been bullied. Its comments such as: "If I have time this weekend I will work out the average house price for the catchment areas of BV and HW" that are outrageous clearly demonstrate that your main issue with the sch...

Re: Anyone else get harangued outside Northcote Library today?!

Having no particularly strong opinion on this matter, I too have been following this thread with interest. I too was stopped by this group a few Saturdays ago. I found them aggressive and when I asked specific questions on statistics I found that they had very vague answers that they used purely for...

Re: Broomwood Hall insights please

I liked Broomwood a lot and it was actually my first choice for a while. There is only one thing that I didn't like. It was the interview for the parents .... I know that a post above says that this is done to make sure that the "family fits" but to me if felt like the interview was all about my hus...
