Re: Splitting inheritance

I thought ClaphamPkOrNot?! said it perfectly. Perhaps it helps to consider what happens if there is a real disparity. It may be long in the future, but it could still be tough for either child to see her only sister having much more (or much less) than she does - so thinking about how your daughter ...

Re: Divorce without lawyers?

The Divorce Surgery (Sam Woodham) is fantastic - one barrister advises both parties on how to share their assets in a way the court would approve. Minimal lawyering, and lots of emphasis on working it out together.

Re: Will beneficiaries - advice please

So many people face a similar dilemma. It’s understandable for your husband to want his father’s money to stay in the family, and equally fair that you think of it as a shared pot. Does it depend on whether you die shortly after receiving the inheritance? Would it be different if you died 20 or 30 y...

Re: Advice please about setting up a website and finding a designer for artwork

Hi Lucy, I put the same post up a year ago and now have a fabulous list of local designers, web people, IT people and everything else you might need. I used Brigitte Halliday at Indelible Creative (based in Balham) for my branding and design, which people still enthuse about. Paul Smart (also local)...

Re: Contesting a will, father plans to leave everything to grandchildren

OP, you really have my sympathy. I used to be a solicitor dealing with exactly this kind of thing, and now help families find their own answers. Inheritance issues can cause so much upset. Of course one should never ‘bank’ on receiving money, and it is the parents’ money, but at the same time it’s n...

Re: Educational Consultant

I agree with the previous post - Finton House is amazing (my youngest has sensory processing issues too, which they picked up, but it’s been a brilliant school for my older one too). I also recommend Richard Northey at The Education Consultancy, who is particularly good with families moving from abr...

Savi family (missing shoe/Clapham swimming pool)

If anyone knows a family called Savi, who were swimming at Clapham today - embarrassingly, one of my children picked up their daughter’s trainer and brought it home! We’re taking it back to the pool.
Deep embarrassment...

Re: GP practice in Clapham South

For GP practices, I really recommend Hetherington Group Practice (a few minutes by car or bus, just down Clapham Park Road).  The midwives and nurses were exceptional with my two pregnancies, and the practice is incredibly good about GP appointments etc.  I’ve never had to wait for an appointment. G...

Help needed setting up a new business!

I’m going to be setting up a business in the next couple of months (mediation and family succession planning). I’ve got lots of experience in the areas I will work in, but no experience at all of setting up or running a small business! I would really love to find some local independent advisers to h...

Re: Recommendation for adviser on administration of trust fund

Hunters are good but if they are too pricey for your budget then you could try Russell-Cooke in Putney, or go slightly further afield and try Cripps or Stevens & Bolton who are both good firms in Kent. All of them are very good at trusts.

Do you know a family called Sherwin with a boy at Hampton Boys?

This is a strange one! Amazon sent me the wrong personalised pencil case and pencils. I have one for a child at Hampton Boys. I’m hoping they have my order, which is for my son’s birthday on Sunday! Although i’ve Asked the Amazon seller to replace it, i’m Not sure it will arrive in time so thought I...

Re: Can anyone recommend a consultant to advise on C section or not.

Also, Patrick O’Brien (Harley Street and UCH/Portland) is brilliant. We had this discussion when the NHS advice was that I should try a natural delivery, and he was incredibly patient and dispassionate about explaining all the options. Good luck!

Re: Laser hair removal

I had laser treatment on my legs (with Harley Medical) and it was very effective. I remember they did say something about hormones - sorry I cannot remember exactly their advice but i think hair can regrow as hormones change. Maybe newer treatments are different but I wonder if you might want to do ...

Re: Indoor plants, succulents, and planters?

Also perhaps try Patch (online) as they have nice plants and planters, and deliver everything to your house planted and ready to go.
