Re: Park being replaced with a block of flats?

They issue a parking permit to any resident. This means that when a house is converted into three flats the number of cars with parking permits likely increases. I don't know what they do with conversions of Victorian/older properties that have already been built and I can imagine in these circumst...

Glastonbury - how to do it posh?

Hi I've seen the footage on TV and have decided that I really want to do Glastonbury next year BUT I want to do it as a middle aged person who doesn't want to use a Portaloo and trudge through mud. Is that possible? :-) So does anyone know how I can "do" it but in a nice middle aged way? I...

Re: Husband having affair???

Agree.

Find space to calmly talk about your fears.

Not on the run/at breakfast/while other things are going on.

Good luck :-)

Re: Travellers/Gypsies on Clapham Common

Marmot-in-London your comment about being worried that fairs attract travellers seems inappropriate. Comments like this shouldn't be acceptable for any group of our society. The 21st May is the World Day for Cultural Diversity, and the UN are asking people to take concrete action to broaden their u...

Re: Adults day out

Agree on Go Ape Also can hire Boris Bikes and go for pedal. I love going from "high" London (Mayfair, Soho etc) to lower (Victoria) so it's almost a freewheel all the way stopping at cafes on the way. Wine tasting is always great fun. Make it competition with two or three teams and part of...

Re: New BBC drama with focus on SW London and house prices

It was brilliant.

Althought it's a bit weird to see him skulking away from nasty spies outside Nandos on Northcote Road. I couldn't help wondering if whilst he is running away I was tottering towards Gails!

Re: Recourse for damage caused by attached neighbors

Hi First off I'd take a lot of pictures of the damage, the pipe etc. Then I'd write to the insurers explaining that the damage was caused by the leaking pipe and that the owner of the pipe had a duty to maintain it and you expect them to fix it and to pay for any restitution on your side. Then if th...

Re: Should I pay for babysitter's lunch?

I can understand you asking the question but I think you know the answer already! :-) You should pay for the lunch as she is going to be working. If she were "off duty" for an hour and could go to Pret on her own, read a magazine and relax then you shouldn't have to pay. However she'll be ...
