Re: Any plans for Wandsworth to increase charges for SUVs?

I'm pretty certain that, at least informally, basing residents' parking charges on vehicle weight has been looked at though I don't know where it's got to.  May be speak to your councillor. But why on earth get one of those monstrosities anyway?  Do you really think that all the data about the envir...

Re: Reform voting housekeeper

The anwer surely is that we (and especially perhaps your children) are lucky enough to live in a country where people can hold and express views with which we disagree (and to be clear, I profoundly disagree with the housekeeper) as long as they are legal.  Why not encourage your children to ask you...

Re: Anyone else's other half buying clothes on DePop?

Fashion is one of the worst industries for both the environment and the climate and here’s the thing - there’s no “get out of jail” card. Nature doesn’t sit there saying “that’s a bit uncool so we won’t count the impact”. So if you can reduce the amount of stuff you buy, and buy secondhand if possib...

Heathrow flightpath

I don’t know if it’s just my imagination but there seem to be many fewer flights over Clapham Common recently and almost none in the early mornings. Does anyone know if the flight path has been changed and if so whether the change is permanent?

Re: How many parcels is too many to take in for a neighbour?

Thank you for the thank you .....

One further  thought  - if they are new get them trained now - it will be much harder to do anything once a pattern is established.  A stiff brandy before talking to them might help!

Re: How many parcels is too many to take in for a neighbour?

We had a very similar problem and solved it through an amicable agreement that they would schedule deliveries to a pick up point unless they were really urgent in which case we would take them in if they couldn’t. In practice they ended up usually warning us if something was likely to come - and gav...

Re: Has anyone succeeded in lobbying Wandsworth council to slow down traffic on their road?

As a suggestion keep a diary and may be recordings of when you are disturbed and then approach your local councillor - they hold regular surgeries.

Re: How much should we cater for relative dietary requirements

May be it depends on the detail - if by "very strong dietary requirements" you mean medical restrictions (eg gluten free, or avoiding some allergen) then that's very different from the meal just not being grand enough.  If it is medical then perhaps contact them ahead of time and agree wha...

Just go onto the Council website and report a missed bin collection - it’s normally fixed the next day.

Re: Borrowing from a parent - legal advice

Talk to Samir Hussein at Gregsons Solicitors in Wimbledon. I have no reason to recommend him other than being a very satisfied client. It’s really important to get it right especially if you have other siblings. Hope that helps.

Re: In home IT support?

Does she use Windows or Apple?  And advise her to use a really good security system such as Bit Defender - it will cost rather than being free, but that's part of the world we live in.  Hope that helps.
