Cleaner - holiday pay?

Could I ask what you would consider to be usual when you are going away on holiday, and so do not need your cleaner for a week or two.

Do you pay her for that time, since it is not her fault that she cannot work? Half pay? No pay, since it's cash in hand/no contract?

What do you all do?

Thanks!

Re: Lola Rojo to close after tomorrow (Friday)

I'm sorry to hear this, we've had some fun times there! I hope Rosita continues to prosper for you.
Interested to try the Georgian though, my parents have one in their village and totally rave about it!

I got mine from Pronovias, I think it was a few months turnaround so you should still have time. Great range, from v reasonable to v pricey.

Hello,

Is there an electrician out there, or does someone know of one who could help me with a couple of things that are beyond my husband's DIY capabilities please!

We're in SW11, between the commons.

Many thanks in advance.

Re: Changes to Honeywell School's admissions criteria

Good move, Honeywell. Thank you for putting this out there. Honeywell is a special school not because of it's outstanding Ofsted report, but for the truly local feel - the children feel part of something, their friends are local, playdates are walked to, they walk to school and get to know the lovel...

Re: Good chinese takeaway?

We have the same complaint, so many awful chinese takeaways! Precisely the same reason too, grease, neon sauce, non-meat. We used to love Bento, on Battersea Bridge Road but since moving to BTC, the deliveries are from their Balham branch which is nowhere near as good, disappointingly! Good Earth is...

Re: Door to door salespeople - new approach?

We had a particularly horrid experience with one of these this week. The man that goes round with a grubby carrier bag of keyrings, that he was getting the kids' attention with - a large man, I already felt a little odd around him ..... I was alone with 2 kids and gave him the £2 to get rid of him m...

Re: Looking for a local reasonably priced conveyancy solicit

We've used Gaia Lack at Skelly & Corsellis a few times and have always been very happy with her. Handy that they're just on St John's Rd in case we need to pop in for anything.

Re: Parents in Byron allowing children to run riot

Byron the worst for unruly kids. I think it must be all the lovely space they have (when accompanied by all the lovely wine). I hate to see this too, absolute pet peeve. Yes, children are children and whilst I don't expect impeccable table manners from mine at all times (I know, I know, slummy mummy...

Re: Swimming lessons for scared 6 year old?

We had a similar issue with our eldest daughter, we opted for 2:1 lessons at Emanuel and you would never guess now how utterly petrified she used to be - others now comment on how beautifully she swims. We've been v pleased. Now have the opposite issue with our youngest who is adamant she will never...
