Re: Best place to get car washed?

I always use the guys behind Clapham Junction station, they're in the car park at the back. For £20 they give our car a really good clean inside and out (including my filthy toddler seats) :D

Re: spring clean/deep clean recommendations

Hi there I can't recommend House Elves highly enough. We needed to do an end of tenancy clean a few weeks ago and they were amazing - really competitive quote and went way over and above what was needed (we'd only been in a short let and the place was pretty spotless anyway!). Not only that but we w...

Re: Very bad experience today at Happy Faces

I've got to stand up for Happy Faces! I've been taking my 3 yr old there for a year or 2 now and he absolutely loves it. We've only had good experiences with the girls there, and they do a really good job. We always go first thing in the morning though - maybe that's got something to do with it? I d...

Re: Orange Recycling Bags

Completely agree - and finding the place to collect them in the Town Hall is not easy either now they're doing huge renovation works. That said they were very friendly and although they only gave me my requisite two rolls (which they agreed was a paltry offering) they did say I could come and get mo...

Re: How to introduce a new baby brother or sister

I'm with mamabel - reading books about the new baby really helped, our son was just 2 when our youngest was born, and he was actually very cool about it in the end. We made him feel like he was a really big boy, and made lots of comments about how he was going to teach his little brother/sister load...

Hat hire for Royal Ascot?

Does anyone know of somewhere to hire a fabulous hat or fascinator for Royal Ascot? A friend of mine has left it rather late and now she's in a panic! She doesn't want to spend too much money but obviously it needs to be amazing enough to get on BBC coverage ;)

Thanks so much!

Re: Wandsworth resident's poison pen letters

Wow - I'm so surprised, I walk past that house almost every day and I LOVE it! It's such a breath of fresh air to see a house that's a bit different from all the Victorian terraces around here. Sure - sometimes it's a bit cluttered in the front but it always looks to me like there's stuff actually h...

Battersea Jubilee - what if you don't have tickets?

Having read all the posts about needing tickets for Battersea Park this weekend I realise that my incredibly smart plan of just pitching up to Albert Bridge and enjoying the festivities might be shared by the rest of SW London and beyond! So - where do you think is a good place to watch with 2 small...

Re: Could use a ride to Chelsea/Westminster hospital

I'm happy to drive you or pick you up too! Don't live on Northcote (more like Tooting) and I don't work in Chelsea, but I'm on maternity leave at the moment and could easily spare some time to ferry you.

Quite like the idea of the NVN carpool... :D

What DO we want on Northcote Road???

I'm just as disappointed as many of you are about the fact that Capital Carpets has gone only to be replaced by yet another estate agents, and like it or loathe it, Crumpet had to be better than Phase Eight?!! Not that I have anything against Phase Eight, but surely one on Bellevue Rd is enough? And...

Re: Gentleman and van - would you recommend?

I have only heard good things about them, a friend of mine moved house with them and thought they were amazing. They came to quote for our house move and though I thought they were very thorough, friendly, professional etc, they were way more expensive than some of the companies that quoted. In the ...

Re: Need an Estate Agent!! Any recommendations?

Not sure where you're selling or if they operate in your area, but if you're around Wandsworth Common then I can't recommend Trindle Rymer Irens highly enough. Very local, their knowledge is excellent, and for me the most important thing was the lack of bullsh*t (pardon my french) - they don't do th...

Re: Anyone got any experience of Fit for a Princess?

I love Fit for a Princess! It is hard work, but I promise you do get out what you put in! Also if you don't want to do the early mornings there's 9am classes (and at the weekend) and really good evening classes too. Everyone seems really friendly as well (I would far prefer to gossip about celebs an...

Architect recommendations wanted

Calling on the collective wisdom of NVN'ers! I'm looking for a reasonably priced local architect to help with a planned loft conversion and kitchen extension (hardly The Shard, but to me it's a huge project!) We've got the builder we want, so just looking for an architect - if you can recommend anyo...

Re: Help - spray tan!

I always go to Tranquillity on Bellevue Road - they use St Tropez spray tan there and I've never had a problem, but wear really loose clothes and for best results, no bra (two kids down and that is simply not an option for me :D )
Oooh, I love a spray tan, puts me in the mood for a holiday!
