Re: Need advise from current Thomas's Clapham parents please!

Correction meant to say it WAS much easier with our younger child so we may have just been just a particularly sporty/alpha year group

Re: Need advise from current Thomas's Clapham parents please!

@dinosaur you literally hit the nail on the head. We have recently moved out of London and although we had many happy years at Thomas’ and made some lovely friends we were shocked at some of the behaviour of other children and despite kindness being a value they push we were constantly hearing stori...

Re: Nicest roads BTC/Nightingale?

Hi We used to live in the Nightingale Triangle and LOVED it! We could walk to Northcote Rd, we were minutes from Clapham Common and could walk across to the High St and cinema but could also walk to Balham so loads and loads of options of restaurants, bars etc but also transport links fab as Clapham...

Re: Experience of good areas to move to in Surrey/Hampshire and prep schools nearby?

Forgot to say feel free to PM as we’re literally on Hampshire/Surrey Border.
My London commute was easily an hour by the time I’d battled my way on to the sixth train to go past!! Will never miss that!!!

Re: Experience of good areas to move to in Surrey/Hampshire and prep schools nearby?

OMG South London Daddy that is not the question she asked!! We moved out three months ago and I hate to say it but it really has been the best thing we’ve done EVER! In fact went out to dinner with five other Mums, all of whom had just moved from London all of whom we’re saying best thing they’ve ev...

Re: To move or not to move?

We’ve just moved out and gone from a postage sized back yard to an enormous garden. Kids are now outside constantly, gardening, building fires, making dens and most importantly spending way less time in front of screens. I’m a very sociable person and we have friends and family visiting a lot and wo...

Hi
I think we left a pair of Nerf laser guns on Clapham Common West Side on the patch between Broomwood Road and outdoor gym area. If anyone has picked up a pair could they let me know?

Hi

Re: What's your school doing re: opening 1 June?

Hi TwoMonkeys Our school which is an old Victorian building but does have a reasonable amount of space and currently classes of 20 has said unless Govt guidelines change they would only have capacity for one more year group beyond reception, yr 1 and 6 so I suspect if that’s the case for our school ...

Re: Back to school?

You’re right it’s a very balanced and sensible read. I think in London the risks are low due to the low infection rate but can definitely see why other parts of UK have reservations. Also having read through what our school is going to do in terms of following guidelines to keep children safe I’m ve...

Re: can i take my family overseas away from elderly grandparents?

I agree with previous posters that you should do what’s right for you. They will also be judging you from their life experience and I suspect haven’t travelled as much so see it in much more dramatic terms. In fact the States is not that far (although you don’t mention which side!) and it would be v...

Re: Back to school?

Unfortunately financial impact often leads directly to lives too and if we don’t restart society as best we can many more lives will be lost as a result of that than the virus itself. I think the important thing is parents and staff have the choice and everyone can make their own risk assessment.

Re: Back to school?

Completely agree Asmac. Unfortunately I think the Government and media have done such a good job of instilling fear into us to get us to take it seriously that they now need to reverse that somewhat to get people back into work and school. Yes it’s extremely serious but we now need to look at the st...
