Re: Interior Designer recommendation

Hey, I run a small interior design company based in Tooting called Emma Victoria ID. I have worked with a few people from this site with success. I can offer ad hoc design advice for £45.00 per hour, or I offer a service called Cheap and Chic where I can put together furniture suggestions, a decora...

Re: Help with Shutters

I recommend the New England Shutter Company based on Jaggard Way near Wandsworth station. I have used them for a couple of clients and the quality of their work and shutters is excellent. They are not as cheap as some others but this is because the composition of their shutters is slightly different...

Re: How many arguments do you have a month?

My partner and I were rowing on a daily basis last year. It was absolutely exhausting and depressing. We are both very stubborn - he in a silent unmovable way and me in a proud and firey way. When we clash it's awful! What we realised after doing the rounds of "this isn't right, we shouldn't be...

Re: Not sure about St George's...

Wow, I'd just like to thank everyone for being so frank and honest about their experiences. Obviously they vary hugely and I think that's the problem with the NHS it's totally inconsistent from one day to the next so you can never plan really. Private is not an option (I have been told resolutely) s...

Re: Not sure about St George's...

Thanks so much everyone. I realise I probably sound somewhat neurotic  , I am known for being a bit of a control freak and luckily have six months to get my head around the fact that ultimately the baby will decide what happens not me and as long as it arrives safely being comfortable is a bon...

Not sure about St George's...

Hi all I'm 3 and a half months pregnant with my first baby and live 5 mins from St George's. I would like a water birth with the option of an epidural if I want one. I like the sound of the Carmen Suite very much (I know I'd have to move to a different place for an epidural - which isn't ideal, but ...

Re: Recommendation for fireplace fitter / supplier

Hi Suzy I run an interior design consultancy in Tooting and have dealt with Chris at The Fireplace Restoration company who I found to be good. Chesney's is great but top-end pricing to boot. Also Stonewoods have a massive showroom on Armoury Way on the way to Putney and they do lots of different sty...

Re: Sash window maintenance/ painting / repair

Hello!

I have used "The Sash Window Man" before, they replaced a broken and rotting bottom-half sash window for a client of mine and the results were fabulous, the chaps they sent round were polite and tidy too. A bottom sash replacement was around £700.00

Hope that helps!

Re: Handyman?

Hi There! I have used The London Handy Team, whose details I got from posts on this site actually. They fixed up a long list of annoying jobs for a flat I was renting out and did a great job. I also called them when my dishwasher packed up and they sent somone around the very next day. Swift, helpfu...

Very Happy Customer!

Hello! I have just completed an interior design project for a lady who found me on this site, she wanted a bespoke sofa and matching armchairs made and using my excellent but inexpensive London based furniture makers she saved over £7,000 (seriously) on the cost compared to exactly the same in the K...

Re: Wooden flooring

I am in the process of using Jordan's Wood Flooring for a client and have used them before, they do supply mainly to trade so can be a bit rough around the edges initially if you are a retail client, but I have found them to be really friendly guys who really know their stuff and supply a great rang...

Re: Accountant Needed

Thanks everyone for your suggestions! It seems like lots of people have their acountants outside of London. I did spot the Decimal Place whilst I was googling but I always think with something as important as accounting it has to be recommended! I have plenty to ring around now, thanks all! xx :D

Accountant Needed

Hi, I run my own interior design company (registered with companies house) and after some time of doing things myself I now need some reliable and local accountancy advice. Mainly for tax returns, corporation tax, national insurance etc. There's a few on various local high streets of course but they...
