Re: Do you tip packers and movers?

We did; £50 I think for a team of 3. They worked 7am - 9pm on the Thursday and then 7am - 5pm on the Friday so we really didn't think it was much to give them. We also left tea, coffee, orange squash, biscuits etc in the kitchen for them to help themselves to in the old house and new house. They get...

Re: Movers & Packers recommendation (URGENT!)

We used Burke & Wills and were very happy with them. Packed our entire house while I went out on playdates. Then they set up the beds, cot, plumbed in the washing machine etc in the new house so our first night was very comfortable & easy.

Re: Unschooling

PS this article is written by a religious loony, so some of what is in it is complete tripe. The interesting point is that the parents refused to be assessed by the Irish National Educational Welfare Board to make sure their child's needs (rather than the parents' religious preferences) were being m...

Re: Unschooling

Just out of curiosity, as this isn't something I would consider myself, what is the legal situation in the UK with home schooling? Do you need to register with the Department of Education and be assessed, etc? http://www.irishtimes.com/news/education/defending-the-right-to-home-educate-children-1.18...

Re: Where did you put your boiler when you renovated??

Ours is in the utility room; building regs meant we had to put it there as the other main options meant the flue was venting into the neighbour's garden, which apparently you are not allowed to do.

Re: Recommendations for eyelash extensions?

I can't recommend anywhere local as I had mine done in central London, but just be aware that it will take your own lashes about 3 mths to recover after you get them removed. There is a serum, which I can't remember the name of but which someone else might, which speeds up lash growth, which you cou...

Re: Removal Firm Recommendation please

We used Burke & Wills, including their packing service, to move to Guildford and they were great. They were super organised, labelled everything really well and got 90% of the work done on the day before the move. That evening they left us with beds, kitchen table etc (having asked us what we wa...
