Moving company

We are (if all goes well..) moving from Oval down to Clapham South/Balham and wondered if anyone had any suggestions for movers. We'd like a fairly full-service type - you know pack up the big stuff and electronics and set it up again on the other side. Obviously hoping for not too pricey and of cou...

Re: Where to buy transformers?

Just how much space/is it worth getting a transformer for kitchen equipment? I have a Texas-shaped waffle-maker that a friend spent way to much money shipping to me and I'd love to use it, but it's 800 watts! Not sure if it's worth it. I see you use yours for the kitchenaid. Would you recommend? Tha...

Sharing great customer service!

I just wanted to share some amazing customer service from Allison Wiffen. (Just because stuff like this never happens!) http://www.awceramics.co.uk/ I had bought my husband the Battersea Power Station cufflinks a year or so ago, and one broke. I wrote to Allison asking if I could buy one to replace ...

Re: CARES flight harness - any good?

My daughter is not a fan. In fact, I've really only tried twice, due to the protests. This is the girl who asks if everyone's seat belt is on before the car starts, (we've told her the car can't go if she's not in her car seat and people's seat belts aren't fastened). So she's all for seat belts and...

Re: BRIXTON / STOCKWELL / CLAPHAM NORTH NURSERY

Hi,
My daughter goes to Mace Montessori on Wandsworth Road. She likes it. And I'd say I'm pretty happy with it.

Actually I had a one to one with her key worker the other week and was actually surprised to see how much more they do for their development than I thought.

Good luck,

Re: Daughter starting school in fall, need childcare advice

Thank you for this. I was thinking it would have to be some kind of part-time nanny thing. I could probably do the morning and arrange for pick up. I'll have a look. Thank you so much for your help.

Looking to put in heated wood floors any suggestions?

I saw there were some old posts on the subject, but was wondering if anyone had any suggestions. We currently have carpet, and I'm pretty sure it's concrete underneath, so we'd need flooring and heating.

Any suggestions for a good wood floor person?

Thanks so much,

Daughter starting school in fall, need childcare advice

She currently attends a day care which goes from 8-6 allowing me to work almost a full day.

However, her new school will be from 8:30 to 3:15 and even further from my office and home (I work from home 2 days a week). What do working parents do?

Thanks!
