I cannot be the only one just feeling utterly sick of the state of politics and social funding right now.
There are more and more people living in tents across London (the councils issue these instead of council housing now it seems), huge numbers of children are homeless and living in hostels, Foodbank use is through the roof, the NHS is being sold off stealthily and we have a US president telling us that it is 'under negotiation' now.
I just had a chat to a friend about our local secondary school probably having its hours cut from 4.30/5 down to 3.30pm as there just isn't the funding available for anything but the bare minimum teaching now. And how they have created a charity that arranges clothes and food parcels to children and families in need that go to this school.
And yet, the press? The government? They are just pretending everything is fine.
When quite clearly it really, really isn't. They even denied the UN's report on our hideous poverty levels and lack of social care recently.
It would seem that huge mismanagement has been taking place over the last few years and perhaps with Brexit seemingly being the only topic of conversation our eye has been off the ball as to what is socially happening around us.
It is just so utterly depressing. We are truly being divided between the few haves and the many, many who have not.
Anyone else with views on this?
