Is it normal to ask this?

Postby summer2011 » Sat Jul 16, 2011 2:43 pm

I replied to an ad and that person sent me an email asking me my full details. He wrote this:

"Full Name:
Full Address:
(NO PO BOX)
City:
Status:
ZIP code:
Gender:
Phone: mobile and land
Age:
I will like you to read and understand clearly the terms and
conditions associated with this job, because My financial officer
will be sending you a ''Cheque'' issued on my behalf for the first
week salary which you will be working for me and other expenses"

He said that's because he want to pay the first week salary in advance..
is that normal? I have not sent him any details because I think this could be a scam. What do you think about?

I've not heard of that before and in all honesty would avoid like the plague!

So glad you didn't respond to this!

Another tip: if you use one of those email providers (such as Hotmail/Windows Live) that allows you to mark such an email as "phishing scam" rather than just normal spam, then do that too, so that they are aware that emails coming from that IP address are likely to be spam/scam & can block them more effectively.

Good luck with your job-hunting!

I despise people like that, they are &?@!!
I guess then they ll ask you for bank details of where to put "that money"... They ask you for all the personal info they need in different emails and then they scam you !!!
Well done, your 6th sense has saved you!

Having just read your post I recognise the questions AND layout as textbook cut-and-paste scam language.

You normally see this attached to letters that say some Dictator has died and left you in their will to the turn of $4.500,000 !!! Please send us all your details to receive....Typical "491" scam,

You did well to avoid it!
