Half term family friendly hotels

Postby SW11er » Tue Sep 01, 2020 7:39 pm

Hello,

I am sure I won’t be the only person asking this but I wonder if anyone has any good recommendations for family friendly hotels. I don’t need kids camps but a pool and a good breakfast and nice dinner option would be good (my kids are young teenagers).

Was looking at Lake District or Cornwall but struggling for availability. We would normally go to Watergate Bay to give you an idea of the type of hotel we like. Really just need access to scenic walks in the day and nice hotel to relax in. Has to be UK.

If anyone has any good recommendations that might have availability in half term it would be great to hear them.

Thanks in advance

Have you tried the Luxury Family Hotels Group?  Not sure what ages they cater up to, ours were pre school age when we went. In the Lakes we have been to LoWood which has recently had a refurb, outdoor spa and right on Windermere. Not quite Watergate Bay but very lovely.

Thanks. Will take a look at those two and see what availability they have.

Don’t do it - There is going to be a second wave and won’t be able to go because you’ll be in lockdown. Sorry for the bad news April should be fine LOL

LizM123 do you mind me asking how you know about the second wave? Do you think we will be locked down again? Would love to know more if you can share?

SW11er we have also been to the Samling in Ambleside and it is gorgeous although I think possibly more for grown ups.

Mr and Mrs Smith feature 3 family friendly hotels you may like in the Lake District.

We stayed at Another Place on Ullswater with two kids (9 and 10) and our puppy (9 months). We had a great time! :)
