South London Scrubbers make scrub caps for St George's

Postby charlotte_admin » Fri Jan 22, 2021 2:47 pm

Sadly, South London Scrubbers has had to be resurrected to meet demand for PPE at local hospitals and ten sewers are busy making scrub caps for the nurses at St George's Hospital. So far they've delivered an incredible 191. Each nurse needs four or five as they’re changed frequently so that number doesn’t actually go very far. Old sheets, pillowcases, dresses and who knows what are being cut up to make them.

A fantastic effort from all involved which I am sure is hugely appreciated by all at St George's.

Gill44 - I have a couple of old sheets (white) - perfectly clean & white, but the material is a bit thin in places - would these be of any use for you & your sewing team?

Hello Toots-1. I have just collected a huge batch of fabric so we're fine right now but may I keep you on file, so to speak, so I can get back in touch should the need arise?
